Ezequiel 21

A espada afiada do Senhor

1 Veio a mim a palavra de Jeová, dizendo: 2 Filho do homem, *Ez 20.46;25.2;28.21olha para Jerusalém, *Ez 20.46;Jó 29.22e deixa cair a tua palavra para os santuários, e profetiza contra a *Ez 4.7;Jr 26.11-12terra de Israel. 3 Dize à terra de Israel: Assim diz Jeová: Eis *Ez 5.8;Jr 21.13;Na 2.13;3.5que sou contra ti, e tirarei a minha *Ez 21.9-11,19;Jr 47.6-7espada da sua bainha, e exterminarei do meio de ti *Is 57.1o justo e *Ez 3.18-19o ímpio. 4 Visto, pois, que exterminarei do meio de ti o justo e o ímpio, por isso a minha espada sairá da sua bainha contra *Ez 7.2;20.47;Jr 12.12toda carne, desde o Sul até o Norte; 5 e saberá *Ez 20.48;Nm 14.21-23toda a carne que eu, Jeová, tirei da bainha a minha espada; para lá *Ez 21.30;1Sm 3.12;Jr 23.20;Na 1.9não se tornará mais. 6 *Ez 21.12;Ez 9.4;Is 22.4;Jr 30.6Suspira, pois, filho do homem; aos olhos deles, com quebrantamento dos lombos e com amargura, darás suspiros. 7 Quando te disserem: Por que suspiras tu? Dirás: Por causa das *Ez 7.26novas, porque elas vêm. *Is 13.7;Na 2.10Todos os corações se derreterão, todas as *Ez 7.17;22.14;Jr 50.43mãos se enfraquecerão, e todos os joelhos ficarão fracos como água; eis que elas vêm e se cumprirão, diz o Senhor Jeová.

8 Veio a mim a palavra de Jeová, dizendo: 9 Filho do homem, profetiza e dize: Assim diz o Senhor: *Ez 21.19,28;Ez 5.1,12A espada, a espada, está afiada e polida; 10 está afiada para fazer uma *Is 34.5-6matança; está polida para ser *Ez 21.15como relâmpago. Havemos, pois, de nos alegrar? A vara de meu filho *Ez 20.47;Sl 110.5-6despreza todas as árvores. 11 Ela se dá a polir, para que seja manejada; esta espada está afiada, está polida, para se meter na *Ez 21.15,19mão de quem vai fazer a matança. 12 *Ez 21.6;Jl 1.13Grita e uiva, filho do homem, pois ela está sobre o meu povo, está sobre todos os *Ez 21.25;Ez 22.6príncipes de Israel. Estes, juntamente com o meu povo, estão entregues à espada; portanto, *Ez 21.14;Ez 6.11;Jr 31.19dá pancadas na tua coxa. 13 Pois há uma prova; e que será, se não mais subsistir *Ez 21.10a vara que despreza tudo? — diz o Senhor Jeová. 14 Tu, pois, filho do homem, profetiza *Ez 21.17;Ez 6.11;22.13;Nm 24.10e bate com as mãos uma na outra; *Lv 26.21,24;2Rs 24.1,10-16;25.1e dobre-se a espada três vezes, a espada *Ez 21.25;Ez 30.24dos mortalmente feridos. É a espada do grande que está mortalmente ferido, a que os rodeia. 15 Pus a ponta da espada contra todas *Ez 21.19;Jr 17.27as suas portas, para que se lhes *Ez 21.7;Js 2.11;2Sm 17.10;Sl 22.14derreta o coração e se lhes multiplique *Is 59.10;Jr 13.16;18.15o tropeçar. Ah! Ela está feita *Ez 21.10como relâmpago, está aguçada para matar. 16 Une as tuas forças, ó espada, vai-te para a direita; prepara-te, e vai-te para a esquerda, para onde quer que o teu rosto se dirigir. 17 Também eu *Ez 21.14;Ez 22.13baterei as mãos uma na outra, *Ez 5.13e satisfarei o meu furor. Eu, Jeová, o disse.

18 De novo, veio a mim a palavra de Jeová, dizendo: 19 Também tu, filho do homem, *Ez 4.1-3;Jr 1.10traça dois caminhos por onde venha *Ez 21.15a espada do rei de Babilônia. De uma só terra sairão ambos; marca um lugar; marca-o no princípio do caminho da cidade. 20 Faze um caminho por onde virá a espada a *Ez 25.5;Dt 3.11;Jr 49.2;Am 1.14Rabá dos filhos de Amom, e a Judá, e a Jerusalém, *Sl 48.12-13;125.1-2a fortificada. 21 Pois o rei de Babilônia para na encruzilhada, no princípio dos dois caminhos, para usar de *Nm 22.7;23.23adivinhações; *Pv 16.33;21.1sacode as setas, consulta *Gn 31.19,30;Jz 17.5os terafins, examina os rins. 22 Na sua mão direita, achava-se a adivinhação sobre Jerusalém, *Ez 4.2para dispor os aríetes, para abrir a boca com ordens de matar, para levantar a voz com alarido, *Ez 26.9para pôr os aríetes contra as portas, para levantar terraplenos, para edificar fortes. 23 E será isso como adivinhação vã aos olhos daqueles *Ez 17.16,18que lhes fizeram juramentos, porém *Ez 21.24;Ez 29.16;Nm 5.15ele se lembrará da iniquidade, para que sejam apanhados.

24 Portanto, assim diz o Senhor Jeová: Porque fizestes que seja lembrada a vossa iniquidade, sendo descobertas as vossas transgressões, de maneira que em todos os vossos feitos aparecem os vossos pecados; porquanto sois lembrados, *Ez 17.20sereis apanhados com a mão. 25 Ó tu, *Ez 21.14,29ímpio mortalmente ferido, príncipe de Israel, cujo *Ez 7.2-3,7;Sl 37.13dia é chegado, *Ez 35.5no tempo em que termina a iniquidade; 26 assim diz o Senhor Jeová: Remove o diadema e tira a *Ez 16.12;Jr 13.18coroa; o que é não mais será o mesmo; *Ez 17.24;Sl 75.7exalte-se o que está abatido, e abata-se o que está exaltado. 27 Eu o *Ag 2.21-22transtornarei, transtornarei, transtornarei; também o que é *Ez 21.26não continuará, até que venha aquele *Ez 34.24;37.24;Sl 2.6;72.7,10;Jr 23.5-6a quem pertence o direito; e lho darei a ele.

28 Tu, filho do homem, profetiza e dize: Assim diz o Senhor Jeová acerca dos filhos de *Ez 21.20;Ez 25.2-3;Jr 49.1-5;Am 1.13-15Amom e acerca *Ez 36.15;Sf 2.8-10do opróbrio deles; dize: *Ez 21.9-10A espada, a espada está desembainhada, para a matança está polida, a fim de que *Is 31.8;Jr 12.12;46.10,14devore, que seja como relâmpago; 29 no tempo em que para ti veem *Ez 13.6-9;22.28;Jr 27.9vaidade e adivinham mentiras, para te porem sobre os pescoços dos ímpios que estão *Ez 21.25mortalmente feridos, cujo dia é chegado, *Ez 21.25;Ez 35.5no tempo em que termina a iniquidade. 30 *Jr 47.6-7Torna-a para a bainha. *Ez 25.5No lugar em que foste criado, na terra da tua natividade, eu te julgarei. 31 *Ez 14.19;25.7;Na 1.6Derramarei sobre ti a minha indignação, *Ez 22.20-21;Sl 18.15;Is 30.33;Ag 1.9assoprarei sobre ti com o fogo do meu furor e te entregarei nas mãos de homens brutais, *Jr 4.7;6.22-23;51.20-21;Hc 1.6-10destros para destruírem. 32 Servirás *Ez 20.47-48;Ml 4.1de pasto ao fogo; o teu sangue será no meio da terra; *Ez 25.10não serás mais lembrado. Pois eu, Jeová, o disse.

1 And the word of the LORD came unto me, saying, 2 Son of man, set thy face toward Jerusalem, and drop thy word toward the holy places, and prophesy against the land of Israel, 3 And say to the land of Israel, Thus saith the LORD; Behold, I am against thee, and will draw forth my sword out of his sheath, and will cut off from thee the righteous and the wicked. 4 Seeing then that I will cut off from thee the righteous and the wicked, therefore shall my sword go forth out of his sheath against all flesh from the south to the north: 5 That all flesh may know that I the LORD have drawn forth my sword out of his sheath: it shall not return any more. 6 Sigh therefore, thou son of man, with the breaking of thy loins; and with bitterness sigh before their eyes. 7 And it shall be, when they say unto thee, Wherefore sighest thou? that thou shalt answer, For the tidings; because it cometh: and every heart shall melt, and all hands shall be feeble, and every spirit shall faint, and all knees shall be weak as water: behold, it cometh, and shall be brought to pass, saith the Lord GOD.*21.7 shall be weak…: Heb. shall go into water

8 Again the word of the LORD came unto me, saying, 9 Son of man, prophesy, and say, Thus saith the LORD; Say, A sword, a sword is sharpened, and also furbished: 10 It is sharpened to make a sore slaughter; it is furbished that it may glitter: should we then make mirth? it contemneth the rod of my son, as every tree.*21.10 it contemneth…: or, it is the rod of my son, it despiseth every tree 11 And he hath given it to be furbished, that it may be handled: this sword is sharpened, and it is furbished, to give it into the hand of the slayer. 12 Cry and howl, son of man: for it shall be upon my people, it shall be upon all the princes of Israel: terrors by reason of the sword shall be upon my people: smite therefore upon thy thigh.*21.12 terrors…: or, they are thrust down to the sword with my people 13 Because it is a trial, and what if the sword contemn even the rod? it shall be no more, saith the Lord GOD.*21.13 Because…: or, When the trial hath been, what then? shall they not also belong to the despising rod? 14 Thou therefore, son of man, prophesy, and smite thine hands together, and let the sword be doubled the third time, the sword of the slain: it is the sword of the great men that are slain, which entereth into their privy chambers.*21.14 hands…: Heb. hand to hand 15 I have set the point of the sword against all their gates, that their heart may faint, and their ruins be multiplied: ah! it is made bright, it is wrapped up for the slaughter.*21.15 point: or, glittering, or, fear*21.15 wrapped up: or, sharpened 16 Go thee one way or other, either on the right hand, or on the left, whithersoever thy face is set.*21.16 or on…: Heb. set thyself, take the left hand 17 I will also smite mine hands together, and I will cause my fury to rest: I the LORD have said it.

18 The word of the LORD came unto me again, saying, 19 Also, thou son of man, appoint thee two ways, that the sword of the king of Babylon may come: both twain shall come forth out of one land: and choose thou a place, choose it at the head of the way to the city. 20 Appoint a way, that the sword may come to Rabbath of the Ammonites, and to Judah in Jerusalem the defenced. 21 For the king of Babylon stood at the parting of the way, at the head of the two ways, to use divination: he made his arrows bright, he consulted with images, he looked in the liver.*21.21 parting of: Heb. mother of*21.21 arrows: or, knives*21.21 images: Heb. teraphim 22 At his right hand was the divination for Jerusalem, to appoint captains, to open the mouth in the slaughter, to lift up the voice with shouting, to appoint battering rams against the gates, to cast a mount, and to build a fort.*21.22 captains: or, battering rams: Heb. rams 23 And it shall be unto them as a false divination in their sight, to them that have sworn oaths: but he will call to remembrance the iniquity, that they may be taken.*21.23 to them…: or, for the oaths made unto them 24 Therefore thus saith the Lord GOD; Because ye have made your iniquity to be remembered, in that your transgressions are discovered, so that in all your doings your sins do appear; because, I say, that ye are come to remembrance, ye shall be taken with the hand.

25 And thou, profane wicked prince of Israel, whose day is come, when iniquity shall have an end, 26 Thus saith the Lord GOD; Remove the diadem, and take off the crown: this shall not be the same: exalt him that is low, and abase him that is high. 27 I will overturn, overturn, overturn, it: and it shall be no more, until he come whose right it is; and I will give it him.*21.27 I will overturn…: Heb. Perverted, perverted, perverted, will I make it

28 And thou, son of man, prophesy and say, Thus saith the Lord GOD concerning the Ammonites, and concerning their reproach; even say thou, The sword, the sword is drawn: for the slaughter it is furbished, to consume because of the glittering: 29 Whiles they see vanity unto thee, whiles they divine a lie unto thee, to bring thee upon the necks of them that are slain, of the wicked, whose day is come, when their iniquity shall have an end. 30 Shall I cause it to return into his sheath? I will judge thee in the place where thou wast created, in the land of thy nativity.*21.30 Shall…: or, Cause it to return 31 And I will pour out mine indignation upon thee, I will blow against thee in the fire of my wrath, and deliver thee into the hand of brutish men, and skilful to destroy.*21.31 brutish: or, burning 32 Thou shalt be for fuel to the fire; thy blood shall be in the midst of the land; thou shalt be no more remembered: for I the LORD have spoken it.
