1 Guarda-me, ó Deus, porque em ti me refugio.

2 Digo ao Senhor: Tu és o meu Senhor;

outro bem não possuo, senão a ti somente.

3 Quanto aos santos que há na terra, são eles os notáveis

nos quais tenho todo o meu prazer.

4 Muitas serão as penas dos que trocam o Senhor por outros deuses;

não oferecerei as suas libações de sangue,

e os meus lábios não pronunciarão o seu nome.

5 O Senhor é a porção da minha herança e o meu cálice;

tu és o arrimo da minha sorte.

6 Caem-me as divisas em lugares amenos,

é mui linda a minha herança.

7 Bendigo o Senhor, que me aconselha;

pois até durante a noite o meu coração me ensina.

8 O Senhor, tenho-o sempre à minha presença;

estando ele à minha direita, não serei abalado.

9 Alegra-se, pois, o meu coração, e o meu espírito exulta;

até o meu corpo repousará seguro.

10 Pois não deixarás a minha alma na morte,

nem permitirás que o teu Santo veja corrupção.

11 Tu me farás ver os caminhos da vida;

na tua presença há plenitude de alegria,

na tua destra, delícias perpetuamente.

2 I have said unto the LORD: 'Thou art my Lord; I have no good but in Thee';

3 As for the holy that are in the earth, they are the excellent in whom is all my delight.

4 Let the idols of them be multiplied that make suit unto another; their drink-offerings of blood will I not offer, nor take their names upon my lips.

5 O LORD, the portion of mine inheritance and of my cup, Thou maintainest my lot.

6 The lines are fallen unto me in pleasant places; yea, I have a goodly heritage.

7 I will bless the LORD, who hath given me counsel; yea, in the night seasons my reins instruct me.

8 I have set the LORD always before me; surely He is at my right hand, I shall not be moved.

9 Therefore my heart is glad, and my glory rejoiceth; my flesh also dwelleth in safety;

10 For Thou wilt not abandon my soul to the nether-world; neither wilt Thou suffer Thy godly one to see the pit.

11 Thou makest me to know the path of life; in Thy presence is fulness of joy, in Thy right hand bliss for evermore.
