Salmos 140

To the chief Musician, A Psalm of David.

1 Deliver me, O LORD, from the evil man: preserve me from the violent man;*140.1 violent…: Heb. man of violences

2 Which imagine mischiefs in their heart; continually are they gathered together for war.

3 They have sharpened their tongues like a serpent; adders’ poison is under their lips. Selah.

4 Keep me, O LORD, from the hands of the wicked; preserve me from the violent man; who have purposed to overthrow my goings.

5 The proud have hid a snare for me, and cords; they have spread a net by the wayside; they have set gins for me. Selah.

6 I said unto the LORD, Thou art my God: hear the voice of my supplications, O LORD.

7 O GOD the Lord, the strength of my salvation, thou hast covered my head in the day of battle.

8 Grant not, O LORD, the desires of the wicked: further not his wicked device; lest they exalt themselves. Selah.*140.8 lest…: or, let them not be exalted

9 As for the head of those that compass me about, let the mischief of their own lips cover them.

10 Let burning coals fall upon them: let them be cast into the fire; into deep pits, that they rise not up again.

11 Let not an evil speaker be established in the earth: evil shall hunt the violent man to overthrow him.*140.11 an…: or, an evil speaker (Heb. a man of tongue), a wicked man of violence, be established in the earth: let him be hunted to his overthrow

12 I know that the LORD will maintain the cause of the afflicted, and the right of the poor.

13 Surely the righteous shall give thanks unto thy name: the upright shall dwell in thy presence.

1 LÍBRAME, oh Jehová, de hombre malo:

Guárdame de hombre violento;

2 Los cuales maquinan males en el corazón,

3 Aguzaron su lengua como la serpiente;

4 ✝ 140.4 Sal. 71.4. Guárdame, oh Jehová, de manos del impío,

Presérvame del hombre injurioso;

Que han pensado de trastornar mis pasos.

5 ✝ 140.5 Sal. 35.7 y 141.9 y 142.3. Jer. 18.22. Hanme escondido lazo y cuerdas los soberbios;

6 He dicho á Jehová: Dios mío eres tú;

Escucha, oh Jehová, la voz de mis ruegos.

7 Jehová Señor, fortaleza de mi salud,

Tú pusiste á cubierto mi cabeza el día de las armas.

8 No des, oh Jehová, al impío sus deseos;

No saques adelante su pensamiento, que no ✝140.8 Dt. 32.27.se ensoberbezca. (Selah.)

9 En cuanto á los que por todas partes me rodean,

✝ 140.9 Sal. 7.16. Pr. 12.13 y 18.7. La maldad de sus propios labios cubrirá su cabeza.

10 ✝ 140.10 Sal. 11.6. Caerán sobre ellos brasas;

Dios los hará caer en el fuego,

En profundos hoyos de donde no salgan.

11 El hombre deslenguado no será firme en la tierra:

El mal cazará al hombre injusto para derribarle.

12 Yo sé que ✝140.12 1 R. 8.45. Sal. 9.4.hará Jehová el juicio del afligido,

El juicio de los menesterosos.

13 Ciertamente los justos alabarán tu nombre;

Los rectos morarán en tu presencia.
