1 To the choirmaster. A Psalm of David. A Song.2 Praise is due to thee, O God, in Zion; and to thee shall vows be performed,3 O thou who hearest prayer! To thee shall all flesh come4 on account of sins. When our transgressions prevail over us, thou dost forgive them.5 Blessed is he whom thou dost choose and bring near, to dwell in thy courts! We shall be satisfied with the goodness of thy house, thy holy temple!6 By dread deeds thou dost answer us with deliverance, O God of our salvation, who art the hope of all the ends of the earth, and of the farthest seas;7 who by thy strength hast established the mountains, being girded with might;8 who dost still the roaring of the seas, the roaring of their waves, the tumult of the peoples;9 so that those who dwell at earth's farthest bounds are afraid at thy signs; thou makest the outgoings of the morning and the evening to shout for joy.10 Thou visitest the earth and waterest it, thou greatly enrichest it; the river of God is full of water; thou providest their grain, for so thou hast prepared it.11 Thou waterest its furrows abundantly, settling its ridges, softening it with showers, and blessing its growth.12 Thou crownest the year with thy bounty; the tracks of thy chariot drip with fatness.13 The pastures of the wilderness drip, the hills gird themselves with joy, [ (Psalms 65:14) the meadows clothe themselves with flocks, the valleys deck themselves with grain, they shout and sing together for joy. ]

1 É justo, ó Deus, que o povo te louve

no monte Sião

e te dê o que prometeu,

2 pois tu respondes às orações.

Pessoas de toda parte virão te adorar

3 por causa dos seus pecados.

As nossas faltas nos deixam derrotados,

mas tu nos perdoas.

4 Como são felizes

aqueles que tu escolhes,

aqueles que trazes para viverem

no teu Templo!

Nós ficaremos contentes

com as coisas boas da tua casa,

com as bênçãos

do teu santo Templo.

5 Ó Deus, tu nos respondes,

dando-nos a vitória,

e fazes coisas maravilhosas

para nos salvar.

Os povos do mundo inteiro,

até os dos mares distantes,

põem a sua esperança em ti.

6 Com o teu poder,

puseste as montanhas no lugar,

mostrando assim

a tua força poderosa.

7 Tu acalmas o rugido dos mares

e o barulho das ondas,

tu acalmas a gritaria dos povos.

8 Por causa das grandes coisas

que tens feito,

o mundo todo está cheio de espanto.

Por causa das maravilhas

que tens feito

há gritos de alegria

de um lado da terra ao outro.

9 Fazendo chover, mostras o teu cuidado

pela terra

e a tornas boa e rica.

Com as chuvas do céu enches de água

os rios,

e assim a terra produz alimentos,

pois para isso a preparaste.

10 Regas com muitas chuvas

as terras aradas,

e elas ficam amolecidas pela água.

Com as chuvas, amacias bem as terras,

e por isso crescem as plantações.

11 Como é grande a colheita

que vem da tua bondade!

Por onde passas, há fartura.

12 Os pastos estão cobertos

de rebanhos,

e os montes se enchem de alegria.

13 Os campos estão cobertos

de carneiros,

e os vales estão cheios de trigo.

Tudo grita e canta de alegria.
