1 (Un psalm alcătuit de David, cînd a făcut pe nebunul în faţa lui Abimelec, şi a plecat izgonit de el.) Voi binecuvînta pe Domnul în orice vreme; lauda Lui va fi totdeauna în gura mea.
2 Să mi se laude sufletul în Domnul! Să asculte cei nenorociţi şi să se bucure.
3 Înălţaţi pe Domnul, împreună cu mine. Să lăudăm cu toţii Numele Lui! -
4 Eu am căutat pe Domnul, şi mi -a răspuns: m'a izbăvit din toate temerile mele.
5 Cînd îţi întorci privirile spre El, te luminezi de bucurie, şi nu ţi se umple faţa de ruşine.
6 Cînd strigă un nenorocit, Domnul aude, şi -l scapă din toate necazurile lui.
7 Îngerul Domnului tăbărăşte în jurul celor ce se tem de El, şi -i scapă din primejdie.
8 Gustaţi şi vedeţi ce bun este Domnul! Ferice de omul care se încrede în El!
9 Temeţi-vă de Domnul, voi, sfinţii Lui, căci de nimic nu duc lipsă cei ce se tem de El!
10 Puii de leu duc lipsă, şi li -i foame, dar cei ce caută pe Domnul nu duc lipsă de nici un bine.
11 Veniţi, fiilor, şi ascultaţi-mă, căci vă voi învăţa frica Domnului.
12 Cine este omul, care doreşte viaţa, şi vrea să aibă parte de zile fericite?
13 Fereşte-ţi limba de rău, şi buzele de cuvinte înşelătoare!
14 Depărtează-te de rău, şi fă binele; caută pacea, şi aleargă după ea!
15 Ochii Domnului sînt peste cei fără prihană, şi urechile Lui iau aminte la strigătele lor.
16 Domnul Îşi întoarce Faţa împotriva celor răi, ca să le şteargă pomenirea de pe pămînt.
17 Cînd strigă cei fără prihană, Domnul aude, şi -i scapă din toate necazurile lor.
18 Domnul este aproape de cei cu inima înfrîntă, şi mîntuieşte pe cei cu duhul zdrobit.
19 De multe ori vine nenorocirea peste cel fără prihană, dar Domnul îl scapă totdeauna din ea.
20 Toate oasele i le păzeşte, ca niciunul din ele să nu i se sfărîme.
21 Pe cel rău îl omoară nenorocirea, dar vrăjmaşii celui fără prihană sînt pedepsiţi.
22 Domnul scapă sufletul robilor Săi, şi niciunul din cei ce se încred în El, nu este osîndit.
1 By David, in his changing his behaviour before Abimelech, and he driveth him away, and he goeth. I do bless Jehovah at all times, Continually His praise [is] in my mouth.
2 In Jehovah doth my soul boast herself, Hear do the humble and rejoice.
3 Ascribe ye greatness to Jehovah with me, And we exalt His name together.
4 I sought Jehovah, and He answered me, And from all my fears did deliver me.
5 They looked expectingly unto Him, And they became bright, And their faces are not ashamed.
6 This poor [one] called, and Jehovah heard, And from all his distresses saved him.
7 A messenger of Jehovah is encamping, Round about those who fear Him, And He armeth them.
8 Taste ye and see that Jehovah [is] good, O the happiness of the man who trusteth in Him.
9 Fear Jehovah, ye His holy ones, For there is no lack to those fearing Him.
10 Young lions have lacked and been hungry, And those seeking Jehovah lack not any good,
11 Come ye, children, hearken to me, The fear of Jehovah I do teach you.
12 Who [is] the man that is desiring life? Loving days to see good?
13 Keep thy tongue from evil, And thy lips from speaking deceit.
14 Turn aside from evil and do good, Seek peace and pursue it.
15 The eyes of Jehovah [are] unto the righteous, And His ears unto their cry.
16 (The face of Jehovah [is] on doers of evil, To cut off from earth their memorial.)
17 They cried, and Jehovah heard, And from all their distresses delivered them.
18 Near [is] Jehovah to the broken of heart, And the bruised of spirit He saveth.
19 Many [are] the evils of the righteous, Out of them all doth Jehovah deliver him.
20 He is keeping all his bones, One of them hath not been broken.
21 Evil doth put to death the wicked, And those hating the righteous are desolate.
22 Jehovah redeemeth the soul of His servants, And none trusting in Him are desolate!
