1 Hear ye this, house of Jacob, who are called by the name of Israel, and are come forth out of the waters of Judah, who swear by the name of Jehovah, and make mention of the God*GodHebrew: Elohim of Israel, not in truth, nor in righteousness. 2 For they are named after the holy city, and stay themselves upon the God*GodHebrew: Elohim of Israel: Jehovah of hosts is his name. 3 I have declared the former things long ago; and they went forth out of my mouth, and I caused them to be heard: I wrought suddenly, and they came to pass. 4 Because I knew that thou art obstinate, and thy neck is an iron sinew, and thy brow brass, 5 so I have long ago declared them to thee; before they came to pass I caused thee to hear them; lest thou shouldest say, Mine idol hath done them, and my graven image, or my molten image hath commanded them. 6 Thou heardest, see all this; — and ye, will not ye declare it? I have caused thee to hear new things from this time, and things hidden, and that thou knewest not: 7 they are created now, and not long ago; and before this day thou hast not heard them, lest thou shouldest say, Behold, I knew them. 8 Yea, thou heardest not, yea, thou knewest not, yea, from of old thine ear was not opened; for I knew that thou wouldest ever deal treacherously, and thou wast called a transgressor from the womb.

9 For my name’s sake I will defer mine anger, and for my praise will I refrain as to thee, that I cut thee not off. 10 Behold, I have refined thee, but not as silver; I have chosen thee in the furnace of affliction. 11 For mine own sake, for mine own sake, will I do it; for how should my name be profaned? and I will not give my glory unto another. 12 Hearken unto me, Jacob, and thou Israel, my called. I am HE; I, the first, and I, the last. 13 Yea, my hand hath laid the foundation of the earth, and my right hand hath spread abroad the heavens: I call unto them, they stand up together. 14 All ye, gather yourselves together, and hear: which among them hath declared these things? He whom Jehovah hath loved shall execute his pleasure on Babylon, and his arm shall be on the Chaldeans. 15 I, even I, have spoken; yea, I have called him; I have brought him, and his way shall be prosperous.

16 Come near unto me, hear ye this: I have not spoken in secret from the beginning; from the time that it was, there am I; and now the Lord Jehovah hath sent me, and his Spirit. 17 Thus saith Jehovah, thy Redeemer, the Holy One of Israel; I am Jehovah thy God*GodHebrew: Elohim who teacheth thee for thy profit, who leadeth thee in the way that thou shouldest go. 18 Oh that thou hadst hearkened to my commandments! Then would thy peace have been as a river, and thy righteousness as the waves of the sea; 19 and thy seed would have been as the sand, and the offspring of thy bowels like the gravel thereof: their name should not have been cut off nor destroyed from before me. 20 Go ye forth from Babylon, flee from the Chaldeans, with a voice of singing; declare, cause this to be heard, utter it to the end of the earth; say ye, Jehovah hath redeemed his servant Jacob. 21 And they thirsted not when he led them through the deserts; he caused the waters to flow out of the rock for them; yea, he clave the rock, and the waters gushed out. 22 There is no peace, saith Jehovah, unto the wicked.

Cap. 65:16.Ţef. 1:5. ați jurat pe Numele Domnului și care chemați pe Dumnezeul lui Israel, dar*Ier. 4:2;5:2. nu în adevăr, nici cu neprihănire! 2 Căci ei își trag numele de la*Cap. 52:1. cetatea sfântă și se*Mica 3:11.Rom. 2:17. bizuiesc pe Dumnezeul lui Israel, al cărui Nume este Domnul oștirilor. 3 De multă vreme am făcut*Cap. 41:22;42:9;43:9;44:7,8;45:21;46:9,10. cele dintâi prorocii, din gura Mea au ieșit, și Eu le-am vestit: deodată am lucrat și*Ios. 21:45. s-au împlinit. 4 Știind că ești împietrit, că grumazul*Exod 32:9.Deut. 31:27. îți este un drug de fier și că ai o frunte de aramă, 5 ți-am*Vers. 3. vestit de mult aceste lucruri, ți le-am spus mai înainte ca să se întâmple, ca să nu poți să zici: ‘Idolul meu le-a făcut, chipul meu cioplit sau chipul meu turnat le-a poruncit!’ 6 Ai auzit toate aceste lucruri pe care le vezi acum! Și nu vreți să le mărturisiți acum?… De acum, îți vestesc lucruri noi, ascunse, necunoscute de tine. 7 Ele se fac în timpul de față și nu fac parte din trecut; până în ziua de azi n-aveai nicio cunoștință despre ele, ca să nu poți zice: ‘Iată că le știam.’ 8 Nici nu le-ai auzit, nici nu le-ai știut și nici nu-ți era deschisă odinioară urechea la ele, căci știam că ai să fii necredincios și că din*Ps. 58:3. naștere ai fost numit răzvrătit. 9 Din*Ps. 79:9;106:8. Vers. 11.Ezec. 20:9,14,22,44. pricina Numelui Meu sunt îndelung*Ps. 78:38. răbdător, pentru slava Mea Mă opresc față de tine, ca să nu te nimicesc. 10 Iată, te-am pus în cuptor*Ps. 66:10., dar nu te-am găsit argint; te-am lămurit în cuptorul urgiei. 11 Din*Vers. 9. dragoste pentru Mine, din dragoste pentru Mine vreau să lucrez! Căci cum*Deut. 32:26,27.Ezec. 20:9. ar putea fi hulit Numele Meu? Nu*Cap. 42:8. voi da altuia slava Mea. 12 Ascultă-Mă, Iacove! Și tu, Israele, pe care te-am chemat! Eu, Eu*Deut. 32:39. sunt Cel dintâi și tot Eu sunt și Cel*Cap. 41:4;44:6.Apoc. 1:17;22:13. din urmă. 13 Mâna*Ps. 102:25. Mea a întemeiat pământul și dreapta Mea a întins cerurile: cum le-am*Cap. 40:26. chemat, s-au și înfățișat îndată. 14 Strângeți-vă*Cap. 41:22;43:9;44:7;45:20,21. cu toții și ascultați! Cine dintre ei a vestit aceste lucruri? Acela pe care-l iubește Domnul*Cap. 45:1. va împlini voia*Cap. 44:28. Lui împotriva Babilonului și brațul lui va apăsa asupra haldeenilor. 15 Eu am vorbit și Eu*Cap. 45:1. l-am și chemat; Eu l-am adus și lucrarea lui va izbuti. 16 Apropiați-vă de Mine și ascultați! De la început, n-am*Cap. 45:19. vorbit în ascuns, de la obârșia acestor lucruri am fost de față. Și acum, Domnul*Cap. 61:1-3.Zah. 2:8,9,11. Dumnezeu M-a trimis cu Duhul Său." 17 Așa vorbește Domnul*Cap. 43:14;44:6,24. Vers. 20., Răscumpărătorul tău, Sfântul lui Israel: „Eu, Domnul Dumnezeul tău, te învăț ce este de folos și te călăuzesc*Ps. 32:8. pe calea pe care trebuie să mergi! 18 O*Deut. 32:29.Ps. 81:13., de ai fi luat aminte la poruncile Mele, atunci*Ps. 119:165. pacea ta ar fi fost ca un râu și fericirea ta, ca valurile mării! 19 Sămânța*Gen. 22:17.Osea 1:10. ta ar fi fost ca nisipul și roadele pântecelui tău, ca boabele de nisip; numele tău n-ar fi fost șters și nimicit înaintea Mea. 20 Ieșiți*Cap. 52:11.Ier. 50:8;51:6,45.Zah. 2:6,7.Apoc. 18:4. din Babilon, fugiți din mijlocul haldeenilor! Vestiți, trâmbițați cu glas de veselie, dați de știre până la capătul pământului, spuneți: ‘Domnul a răscumpărat*Exod 19:4,5,6. Cap. 44:22,23. pe robul Său Iacov! 21 Și nu vor suferi de sete*Cap. 41:17,18. în pustiurile în care-i va duce, ci va face*Exod 17:6.Num. 20:11.Ps. 105:41. să curgă pentru ei apă din stâncă, va despica stânca și va curge apa.’ 22 Cei răi n-au pace*Cap. 57:21.", zice Domnul.
