1 Thus saith Jehovah: Where is the bill of your mother’s divorce, whom I have put away? or which of my creditors is it to whom I have sold you? Behold, through your iniquities have ye sold yourselves, and for your transgressions is your mother put away. 2 Wherefore did I come, and there was no man? I called, and there was none to answer? Is my hand at all shortened that I cannot redeem, or have I no power to deliver? behold, at my rebuke I dry up the sea, I make rivers a wilderness; their fish stink because there is no water, and die for thirst. 3 I clothe the heavens with blackness, and I make sackcloth their covering.

4 The Lord Jehovah hath given me the tongue of the instructed, that I should know how to succour by a word him that is weary. He wakeneth morning by morning, he wakeneth mine ear to hear as the instructed. 5 The Lord Jehovah hath opened mine ear, and I was not rebellious; I turned not away back. 6 I gave my back to smiters, and my cheeks to them that plucked off the hair; I hid not my face from shame and spitting. 7 But the Lord Jehovah will help me: therefore shall I not be confounded; therefore have I set my face like a flint, and I know that I shall not be ashamed. 8 He is near that justifieth me: who will contend with me? let us stand together; who is mine adverse party? let him draw near unto me. 9 Behold, the Lord Jehovah will help me; who is he that shall condemn me? Behold, they all shall grow old as a garment; the moth shall eat them up.

10 Who is among you that feareth Jehovah, that hearkeneth to the voice of his servant? he that walketh in darkness, and hath no light, — let him confide in the name of Jehovah, and stay himself upon his God*GodHebrew: Elohim11 Behold, all ye that kindle a fire, that compass yourselves about with sparks: walk in the light of your fire, and among the sparks that ye have kindled. This shall ye have of my hand: ye shall lie down in sorrow.

Pentru ce n-a răspuns nimeni când*Prov. 1:24. Cap. 65:12; 66:4.Ier. 7:13;35:15. am strigat? Este mâna*Num. 11:23. Cap. 59:1. Mea prea scurtă ca să răscumpere? Sau n-am Eu destulă putere ca să izbăvesc? Cu*Ps. 106:9.Zah. 1:4. mustrarea Mea, Eu usuc*Exod 14:21. marea și prefac râurile*Ios. 3:16. în pustie; peștii*Exod 7:18,21. lor se strică din lipsă de apă și pier de sete! 3 Îmbrac*Exod 10:21. cerurile cu negura de jale și*Apoc. 6:12. le învelesc cu un sac." 4 „Domnul*Exod 4:11. Dumnezeu Mi-a dat o limbă iscusită, ca să știu să înviorez cu vorba pe cel*Mat. 11:28. doborât de întristare. El Îmi trezește în fiecare dimineață, El Îmi trezește urechea, să ascult cum ascultă niște ucenici. 5 Domnul Dumnezeu Mi-a*Ps. 40:6,7,8. deschis urechea și nu M-am împotrivit*Mat. 26:39.Ioan 14:31.Filip. 2:8.Evr. 10:5., nici nu M-am tras înapoi. 6 Mi-am dat spatele*Mat. 26:67;27:26.Ioan 18:22. înaintea celor ce Mă loveau și obrajii*Plâng. 3:30. înaintea celor ce-Mi smulgeau barba; nu Mi-am ascuns fața de ocări și de scuipări. 7 Dar Domnul Dumnezeu M-a ajutat, de aceea nu M-am rușinat, de aceea Mi-am făcut*Ezec. 3:8,9. fața ca o cremene, știind că nu voi fi dat de rușine. 8 Cel ce Mă îndreptățește este aproape*Rom. 8:32-34.: cine va vorbi împotriva Mea? Să ne înfățișăm împreună! Cine este potrivnicul Meu? Să înainteze spre Mine! 9 Iată*Iov 13:28.Ps. 102:26. Cap. 51:6., Domnul Dumnezeu Mă ajută: cine Mă va osândi? Într-adevăr, se prefac cu toții în zdrențe ca o haină: molia*Cap. 51:8. îi va mânca. 10 Cine dintre voi se teme de Domnul să asculte glasul Robului Său! Cine umblă în*Ps. 23:4. întuneric și n-are lumină să*2 Cron. 20:20.Ps. 20:7. se încreadă în Numele Domnului și să se bizuiască pe Dumnezeul lui! 11 Iar voi toți, care aprindeți focul și puneți tăciuni pe el, umblați în lumina focului vostru și în tăciunii pe care i-ați aprins! Din*Ioan 9:39. mâna Mea vi se întâmplă aceste lucruri, ca să zăceți în dureri*Ps. 16:4.."
