1 Behold, Jehovah’s hand is not shortened that it cannot save, neither his ear heavy that it cannot hear; 2 but your iniquities have separated between you and your God*GodHebrew: Elohim and your sins have hid his face from you, that he doth not hear. 3 For your hands are stained with blood, and your fingers with iniquity; your lips speak lies, your tongue muttereth unrighteousness: 4 none calleth for justice, none pleadeth in truthfulness. They trust in vanity, and speak falsehood; they conceive mischief, and bring forth iniquity. 5 They hatch serpents' eggs, and weave the spider’s web: he that eateth of their eggs dieth, and that which is crushed breaketh out into a viper. 6 Their webs shall not become garments, neither shall they cover themselves with their works; their works are works of iniquity, and the act of violence is in their hands. 7 Their feet run to evil, and they make haste to shed innocent blood; their thoughts are thoughts of iniquity; wasting and destruction are in their paths; 8 the way of peace they know not, and there is no judgment in their goings; they have made their paths crooked: whoso goeth therein knoweth not peace.

9 Therefore is justice far from us, and righteousness overtaketh us not: we wait for light, and behold darkness; for brightness, but we walk in obscurity. 10 We grope for the wall like the blind, and we grope as if we had no eyes: we stumble at midday as in the twilight; amongst the flourishing we are as the dead. 11 We roar all like bears, and mourn grievously like doves: we look for judgment, and there is none; for salvation, but it is far from us. 12 For our transgressions are multiplied before thee, and our sins testify against us; for our transgressions are with us; and our iniquities, we know them: 13 in transgressing and lying against Jehovah, and departing away from our God*GodHebrew: Elohim speaking oppression and revolt, conceiving and uttering from the heart words of falsehood. 14 And judgment is turned away backward, and righteousness standeth afar off; for truth stumbleth in the street, and uprightness cannot enter. 15 And truth faileth; and he that departeth from evil maketh himself a prey. And Jehovah saw it, and it was evil in his sight that there was no judgment.

16 And he saw that there was no man, and he wondered that there was no intercessor; and his arm brought him salvation, and his righteousness, it sustained him. 17 And he put on righteousness as a breastplate, and a helmet of salvation upon his head; and he put on garments of vengeance for clothing, and was clad with zeal as a cloak. 18 According to deeds, so will he repay: fury to his adversaries, recompence to his enemies; to the islands he will repay recompence. 19 And they shall fear the name of Jehovah from the west, and from the rising of the sun, his glory. When the adversary shall come in like a flood, the Spirit of Jehovah will lift up a banner against him. 20 And the Redeemer will come to Zion, and unto them that turn from transgression in Jacob, saith Jehovah. 21 And as for me, this is my covenant with them, saith Jehovah: My spirit that is upon thee, and my words which I have put in thy mouth, shall not depart out of thy mouth, nor out of the mouth of thy seed, nor out of the mouth of thy seed’s seed, saith Jehovah, from henceforth and for ever.

Cap. 50:2. ca să mântuiască, nici urechea Lui prea tare ca să audă, 2 ci nelegiuirile voastre pun un zid de despărțire între voi și Dumnezeul vostru; păcatele voastre vă ascund Fața Lui și-L împiedică să v-asculte! 3 Căci mâinile*Cap. 1:15. vă sunt mânjite de sânge și degetele, de nelegiuiri; buzele voastre spun minciuni și limba voastră vorbește nelegiuiri. 4 Niciunuia nu-i place dreptatea, niciunul nu se judecă cu dreptate; ei se bizuiesc pe lucruri deșarte și spun neadevăruri, zămislesc răul și nasc*Iov 15:35.Ps. 7:14. nelegiuirea. 5 Clocesc ouă de basilisc și țes pânze de păianjen. Cine mănâncă din ouăle lor moare și, dacă se sparge vreunul, iese o năpârcă. 6 Pânzele*Iov 8:14,15. lor nu slujesc la facerea hainelor și nu pot să se acopere cu lucrarea lor, căci lucrările lor sunt niște lucrări nelegiuite și în mâinile lor sunt fapte de silnicie. 7 Picioarele*Prov. 1:16.Rom. 3:15. lor aleargă spre rău și se grăbesc să verse sânge nevinovat; gândurile lor sunt gânduri nelegiuite, prăpădul și nimicirea sunt pe drumul lor. 8 Ei nu cunosc calea păcii și în căile lor nu este dreptate; apucă pe cărări sucite*Ps. 125:5.Prov. 2:15.: oricine umblă pe ele nu cunoaște pacea. 9 De aceea hotărârea de izbăvire este departe de noi și mântuirea nu ne ajunge. Așteptăm*Ier. 8:15. lumina, și iată întunericul; lucirea, și umblăm în negură! 10 Bâjbâim*Deut. 28:29.Iov 5:14.Amos 8:9. ca niște orbi de-a lungul unui zid, bâjbâim ca cei ce n-au ochi, ne poticnim ziua-n amiaza mare ca noaptea, în mijlocul celor sănătoși suntem ca niște morți. 11 Mormăim cu toții ca niște urși, ne*Cap. 38:14.Ezec. 7:16. văităm ca niște porumbei, așteptăm izbăvirea, și nu este, așteptăm mântuirea, și ea este departe de noi. 12 Căci fărădelegile noastre sunt multe înaintea Ta și păcatele noastre mărturisesc împotriva noastră; fărădelegile noastre sunt cu noi și ne cunoaștem nelegiuirile noastre. 13 Am fost vinovați și necredincioși față de Domnul, am părăsit pe Dumnezeul nostru; am vorbit cu apăsare și răzvrătire, am cugetat*Mat. 12:34. și am vorbit cuvinte mincinoase, 14 și astfel izbăvirea s-a întors îndărăt și mântuirea a stat deoparte, căci adevărul s-a poticnit în piața de obște și neprihănirea nu poate să se apropie. 15 Adevărul s-a făcut nevăzut, și cel ce se depărtează de rău este jefuit. Domnul vede, cu privirea mânioasă, că nu mai este nicio neprihănire. 16 El vede*Ezec. 22:30. că nu este niciun om și Se miră*Marcu 6:6. că nimeni nu mijlocește. Atunci*Ps. 98:1. Cap. 63:5. brațul Lui Îi vine în ajutor și neprihănirea Lui Îl sprijină. 17 Se*Efes. 6:14,17.1 Tes. 5:8. îmbracă cu neprihănirea ca și cu o platoșă, Își pune pe cap coiful mântuirii, ia răzbunarea ca o haină și Se acoperă cu gelozia ca și cu o manta. 18 El va răsplăti fiecăruia după*Cap. 63:6. faptele lui, va da potrivnicilor Săi mânia, va întoarce la fel vrăjmașilor Săi și va da ostroavelor plata cuvenită! 19 Atunci*Ps. 113:3.Mal. 1:11. se vor teme de Numele Domnului cei de la apus, și de slava Lui, cei de la răsăritul soarelui. Când va năvăli vrăjmașul ca*Apoc. 12:15. un râu, Duhul Domnului îl va pune pe fugă. 20 „Da, va veni un Răscumpărător*Rom. 11:26. pentru Sion, pentru cei ai lui Iacov care se vor întoarce de la păcatele lor", zice Domnul. 21 „Și iată*Evr. 8:10;10:16. legământul Meu cu ei", zice Domnul: „Duhul Meu, care Se odihnește peste tine, și cuvintele Mele, pe care le-am pus în gura ta, nu se vor mai depărta din gura ta, nici din gura copiilor tăi, nici din gura copiilor copiilor tăi, de acum și până-n veac", zice Domnul.
