1 De Davi. Hino. Feliz aquele cuja iniqüidade foi perdoada, cujo pecado foi absolvido.2 Feliz o homem a quem o Senhor não argúi de falta, e em cujo coração não há dolo.3 Enquanto me conservei calado, mirraram-se-me os ossos, entre contínuos gemidos.4 Pois, dia e noite, vossa mão pesava sobre mim; esgotavam-se-me as forças como nos ardores do verão.5 Então eu vos confessei o meu pecado, e não mais dissimulei a minha culpa. Disse: Sim, vou confessar ao Senhor a minha iniqüidade. E vós perdoastes a pena do meu pecado.6 Assim também todo fiel recorrerá a vós, no momento da necessidade. Quando transbordarem muitas águas, elas não chegarão até ele.7 Vós sois meu asilo, das angústias me preservareis e me envolvereis na alegria de minha salvação.8 Vou te ensinar, dizeis, vou te mostrar o caminho que deves seguir; vou te instruir, fitando em ti os meus olhos:9 não queiras ser sem inteligência como o cavalo, como o muar, que só ao freio e à rédea submetem seus ímpetos; de outro modo não se chegam a ti.10 São muitos os sofrimentos do ímpio. Mas quem espera no Senhor, sua misericórdia o envolve.11 Ó justos, alegrai-vos e regozijai-vos no Senhor. Exultai todos vós, retos de coração.

Blessed [is he whose] transgression [is] forgiven, [whose] sin [is] covered.2 Blessed [is] the man unto whom the LORD does not impute iniquity and in whose spirit [there is] no guile.3 When I kept silence, my bones waxed old through my roaring all the day long.4 For day and night thy hand was heavy upon me: my green [growth] is turned into the drought of summer. Selah.5 I acknowledged my sin unto thee, and I have not hid my iniquity. I said, I will confess (against myself) my rebellions unto the LORD, and thou shalt forgive the iniquity of my sin. Selah.6 For this shall every one that is merciful pray unto thee in the time when thou may be found; surely in the floods of great waters they shall not come near unto him.7 Thou [art] my hiding place; thou shalt preserve me from trouble; thou shalt compass me about with songs of deliverance. Selah.8 I will instruct thee and teach thee in the way which thou shalt go; I will fix mine eyes upon thee.9 Be ye not as the horse [or] as the mule, [which] have no understanding: whose mouth must be held in subjection with bit and bridle, or they will not come near unto thee.10 [There are] many sorrows for the wicked; but he that waits in the LORD, mercy shall compass him [round] about.11 Be glad in the LORD and rejoice, ye righteous, and shout for joy, all [ye that are] upright in heart.:
