1 Exultai no Senhor, ó justos, pois aos retos convém o louvor.2 Celebrai o Senhor com a cítara, entoai-lhe hinos na harpa de dez cordas.3 Cantai-lhe um cântico novo, acompanhado de instrumentos de música,4 porque a palavra do Senhor é reta, em todas as suas obras resplandece a fidelidade:5 ele ama a justiça e o direito, da bondade do Senhor está cheia a terra.6 Pela palavra do Senhor foram feitos os céus, e pelo sopro de sua boca todo o seu exército.7 Ele junta as águas do mar como num odre, e em reservatórios encerra as ondas.8 Tema ao Senhor toda a terra; reverenciem-no todos os habitantes do globo.9 Porque ele disse e tudo foi feito, ele ordenou e tudo existiu.10 O Senhor desfaz os planos das nações pagãs, reduz a nada os projetos dos povos.11 Só os desígnios do Senhor permanecem eternamente e os pensamentos de seu coração por todas as gerações.12 Feliz a nação que tem o Senhor por seu Deus, e o povo que ele escolheu para sua herança.13 O Senhor olha dos céus, vê todos os filhos dos homens.14 Do alto de sua morada observa todos os habitantes da terra,15 ele que formou o coração de cada um e está atento a cada uma de suas ações.16 Não vence o rei pelo numeroso exército, nem se livra o guerreiro pela grande força.17 O cavalo não é penhor de vitória, nem salva pela sua resistência.18 Eis os olhos do Senhor pousados sobre os que o temem, sobre os que esperam na sua bondade,19 a fim de livrar-lhes a alma da morte e nutri-los no tempo da fome.20 Nossa alma espera no Senhor, porque ele é nosso amparo e nosso escudo.21 Nele, pois, se alegra o nosso coração, em seu santo nome confiamos.22 Seja-nos manifestada, Senhor, a vossa misericórdia, como a esperamos de vós.

1 Rejoice in the LORD, O ye righteous, [for] to the upright praise is beautiful.2 Celebrate unto the LORD with harp; sing unto him with the psaltery [and] an instrument of ten strings.3 Sing unto him a new song; play unto excellence with joy.4 For the word of the LORD [is] right, and all his works [are done] in truth.5 He loves righteousness and judgment; the earth is full of the mercy of the LORD.6 By the word of the LORD were the heavens made, and all the host of them by the breath of his mouth.7 He gathers the waters of the sea together as a heap; he lays up the deeps for treasures.8 Let all the earth fear the LORD; let all the inhabitants of the world stand in awe of him.9 For he spoke, and it was [done]; he commanded, and it came into being.10 The LORD brings the counsel of the Gentiles to nought; he makes the devices of the peoples of no effect.11 The counsel of the LORD stands for ever, the thoughts of his heart to all generations.12 Blessed [is] the people whose God [is] the LORD; the people [whom] he has chosen for his own inheritance.13 The LORD looked from heaven; he saw all the sons of Adam.14 From the place of his habitation he looked upon all the inhabitants of the earth.15 He fashioned all of their hearts; he considers all their works.16 The king is not saved by the multitude of the army; the mighty man does not escape by much strength.17 A horse [is] a vain thing for salvation; neither shall he deliver [any] by his great strength.18 Behold, the eye of the LORD [is] upon those that fear him, upon those that wait for his mercy19 to deliver their souls from death and to keep them alive in the famine.20 Our soul waited for the LORD; he [is] our help and our shield.21 Therefore our heart shall rejoice in him because we have trusted in the name of his holiness.22 Let thy mercy, O LORD, be upon us, according as we have waited upon thee.:
