1 Salmo. Louvai o Senhor porque ele é bom; cantai ao nosso Deus porque ele é amável, e o louvor lhe convém.2 O Senhor reconstrói Jerusalém, e congrega os dispersos de Israel.3 Ele cura os que têm o coração ferido, e pensa-lhes as chagas.4 É ele que fixa o número das estrelas, e designa cada uma por seu nome.5 Grande é o Senhor nosso e poderosa a sua força; sua sabedoria não tem limites.6 O Senhor eleva os humildes, mas abate os ímpios até a terra.7 Cantai ao Senhor um cântico de gratidão, cantai ao nosso Deus com a harpa.8 A ele que cobre os céus de nuvens, que faz cair a chuva à terra; a ele que faz crescer a relva nas montanhas, e germinar plantas úteis para o homem.9 Que dá sustento aos rebanhos, aos filhotes dos corvos que por ele clamam.10 Não é o vigor do cavalo que lhe agrada, nem ele se compraz nos jarretes do corredor.11 Agradam ao Senhor somente os que o temem, e confiam em sua misericórdia.12 Salmo. Louva, ó Jerusalém, ao Senhor; louva o teu Deus, ó Sião,13 porque ele reforçou os ferrolhos de tuas portas, e abençoou teus filhos em teu seio.14 Estabeleceu a paz em tuas fronteiras, e te nutre com a flor do trigo.15 Ele revelou sua palavra a Jacó, e aí ela corre velozmente.16 Ele faz cair a neve como lã, espalha a geada, como cinza.17 Atira o seu granizo como migalhas de pão, diante de seu frio as águas se congelam.18 À sua ordem, porém, elas se derretem; faz soprar o vento e as águas correm de novo.19 Ele revelou sua palavra a Jacó, sua lei e seus preceitos a Israel.20 Com nenhum outro povo agiu assim, a nenhum deles manifestou seus mandamentos.

1 Halelu-JAH: for [it is] good to sing praises unto our God; for praise is pleasant and beautiful.2 The LORD, he who builds up Jerusalem; shall gather together the outcasts of Israel.3 He heals the broken hearted, and he binds up their wounds.4 He counts the number of the stars [and] calls them all by [their] names.5 Great [is] our Lord and of great power; his intelligence [is] infinite.6 The LORD lifts up the humble; he casts the wicked down to the earth.7 Sing unto the LORD with thanksgiving; sing praise upon the harp unto our God:8 Who covers the heavens with clouds, who prepares the rain for the earth, who makes grass to grow upon the mountains.9 He who gives the beast his food [and] to the sons of the ravens which cry [unto him].10 He does not delight in the strength of the horse; nor does he take pleasure in the legs of a man.11 The LORD takes pleasure in those that fear him, in those that wait upon his mercy.12 Praise the LORD, O Jerusalem; praise thy God, O Zion.13 For he has strengthened the bars of thy gates; he has blessed thy sons within thee.14 He who makes peace [to be] thy borders shall fill thee with the finest of the wheat.15 He sends forth his word [upon] earth; his word runs very swiftly.16 He who gives snow like wool scatters the hoarfrost like ashes.17 He casts forth his ice like morsels; who can stand before his cold?18 He shall send forth his word and melt them; his wind shall blow, and the waters shall flow.19 He declares his words unto Jacob, his statutes and his judgments unto Israel.20 He has not dealt so with the other nations, [which] have not known [his] judgments.
