1 Ao mestre de canto. Segundo a melodia: Os lírios. Hino dos filhos de Coré. Canto nupcial. Transbordam palavras sublimes do meu coração. Ao rei dedico o meu canto. Minha língua é como o estilo de um ágil escriba.2 Sois belo, o mais belo dos filhos dos homens. Expande-se a graça em vossos lábios, pelo que Deus vos cumulou de bênçãos eternas.3 Cingi-vos com vossa espada, ó herói; ela é vosso ornamento e esplendor.4 Erguei-vos vitorioso em defesa da verdade e da justiça. Que vossa mão se assinale por feitos gloriosos.5 Aguçadas são as vossas flechas; a vós se submetem os povos; os inimigos do rei perdem o ânimo.6 Vosso trono, ó Deus, é eterno, de eqüidade é vosso cetro real.7 Amais a justiça e detestais o mal, pelo que o Senhor, vosso Deus, vos ungiu com óleo de alegria, preferindo-vos aos vossos iguais.8 Exalam vossas vestes perfume de mirra, aloés e incenso; do palácio de marfim os sons das liras vos deleitam.9 Filhas de reis formam vosso cortejo; posta-se à vossa direita a rainha, ornada de ouro de Ofir.10 Ouve, filha, vê e presta atenção: esquece o teu povo e a casa de teu pai.11 De tua beleza se encantará o rei; ele é teu senhor, rende-lhe homenagens.12 Habitantes de Tiro virão com seus presentes, próceres do povo implorarão teu favor.13 Toda formosa, entra a filha do rei, com vestes bordadas de ouro.14 Em roupagens multicores apresenta-se ao rei, após ela vos são apresentadas as virgens, suas companheiras.15 Levadas entre alegrias e júbilos, ingressam no palácio real.16 Tomarão os vossos filhos o lugar de vossos pais, vós os estabelecereis príncipes sobre toda a terra.17 Celebrarei vosso nome através das gerações. E os povos vos louvarão eternamente.

My heart is overflowing with a good word; I speak of the things which I have done concerning the king; my tongue [is] the pen of a ready writer.2 Thou art fairer than the sons of men, grace is poured into thy lips; therefore God has blessed thee for ever.3 Gird thy sword upon [thy] thigh, O [most] valiant, with thy glory and thy majesty.4 And in thy majesty be prospered; ride upon the word of truth and of humility [and] of righteousness; and thy right hand shall teach thee terrible things.5 Thine arrows, [by which] the peoples fall under thee, [penetrate] the heart of the enemies of the king.6 Thy throne, O God, [is] eternal and for ever, the rod of righteousness the sceptre of thy kingdom.7 Thou lovest righteousness, and hatest wickedness; therefore God, thy God, has anointed thee with the oil of gladness above thy fellows.8 All thy garments [smell] of myrrh and aloes [and] cassia, out of the ivory palaces, by which they have made thee glad.9 Kings' daughters [were] among thy honourable women; the queen stands at thy right hand with a [crown of gold] from Ophir.10 Hearken, O daughter, and consider and incline thine ear; forget also thine own people, and thy father's house;11 so shall the king greatly desire thy beauty; and bow before him, for he [is] thy Lord.12 And the daughter of Tyre [shall be there] with a gift; [even] the rich among the people shall intreat thy favour.13 The king's daughter [is] all glorious within: her clothing [is] of wrought gold.14 She shall be brought unto the king in raiment of needlework; the virgins her companions that follow her shall be brought unto thee.15 With gladness and rejoicing shall they be brought; they shall enter into the king's palace.16 Instead of thy fathers shall be thy sons, whom thou shalt make princes in all the earth.17 I will make thy name to be remembered in all generations; therefore shall the people praise thee eternally and for ever.:
