1 Presta atenção à minha oração, Senhor, e ouve-me, pois estou bem necessitado e aflito.2 Guarda a minha alma, pois sou teu, ó Deus meu. Salva-me, pois sirvo-te e confio em ti.3 Tem misericórdia de mim, ó Senhor, pois chamo por ti o dia inteiro.4 Dá-me alegria, Senhor, pois estou ao teu serviço e é a ti que a minha alma se dirige.5 Tu és bom e pronto a perdoar; és cheio de bondade para com todos os que apelam para a tua ajuda.6 Ouve atentamente a minha oração, Senhor. Atende à voz das minhas súplicas.7 Sempre chamarei por ti, quando me encontrar em angústia, porque sei que me respondes.8 Entre os deuses pagãos não há nenhum que se assemelhe sequer a ti,nem que faça obras como as tuas.9 Todas as nações, que tu próprio formaste, virão e se inclinarão perante ti, Senhor, e dirão belas coisas sobre a força que tem o teu nome.10 Porque és grande e realizas grandes maravilhas. Só tu és Deus!11 Ensina-me, Senhor, o teu caminho, e andarei na tua verdade. Que todo o meu ser saiba reverenciar o teu nome.12 Eu te louvarei de todo o meu coração, Senhor meu Deus, e darei honra ao teu nome para sempre.13 Pois tem sido grande a tua misericórdia para comigo e livraste a minha alma das profundezas do inferno.14 Ó Deus, gente soberba se levantou contra mim; ajuntamentos de pessoas violentas, verdadeiros tiranos procuram matar-me. E nem sequer lhes passa pela ideia que tu podes ver isso.15 Mas tu, Senhor, és um Deus cheio de compaixão, de misericórdia; és meigo e bom. Nunca falhas no que prometes.16 Por isso olha para mim, tem pena da minha situação. Dá-me força para te servir; salva-me a mim, que sou filho de uma mulher que também te serviu!17 Dá-me já uma prova do teu favor, para que o vejam os que te aborrecem, e sejam condenados por toda a gente que vir, que tu, Senhor, me ajudas e confortas.

1 A Prayer of David Bow down your ear, O Yahweh, and answer me; For I am poor and needy.2 Preserve my soul; for I am godly: O you my God, save your slave who trusts in you.3 Be merciful to me, O Lord; For to you I cry all the day long.4 Rejoice the soul of your slave; For to you, O Lord, I lift up my soul.5 For you, Lord, are good, and ready to forgive, And abundant in loving-kindness to all those who call on you.6 Give ear, O Yahweh, to my prayer; And listen to the voice of my supplications.7 In the day of my trouble I will call on you; For you will answer me.8 There is none like you among the gods, O Lord; Neither [are there any works] like your works.9 All nations whom you have made will come and worship before you, O Lord; And they will glorify your name.10 For you are great, and do wondrous things: You alone are God.11 Teach me your way, O Yahweh; I will walk in your truth: Unite my heart to fear your name.12 I will praise you, O Lord my God, with my whole heart; And I will glorify your name forevermore.13 For great is your loving-kindness toward me; And you have delivered my soul from the lowest Sheol.14 O God, the proud have risen up against me, And a company of violent men have sought after my soul, And have not set you before them.15 But you, O Lord, are a God merciful and gracious, Slow to anger, and abundant in loving-kindness and truth.16 Oh turn to me, and have mercy on me; Give your strength to your male slave, And save the son of your female slave.17 Show me a token for good, That those who hate me may see it, and be put to shame, Because you, Yahweh, have helped me, and comforted me.
