2 Guarda a minha vida das intenções malignas dessa gente ruim e das maquinações desses malfeitores, que transformam as suas línguas em armas de guerra; apontam e atiram contra mim palavras venenosas.4 Disparam, repentinamente, e às escondidas, contra o inocente, o justo. E não têm medo das consequências.5 Combinam bem os seus planos de maldade. Encontram-se para prepararem armadilhas; e dizem: Aqui, ninguém nos apanha.6 Fazem pesquisas, e inquirem de tudo o que podem para melhor atingirem os seus fins perversos e ferirem os outros no mais íntimo dos seus seres.7 Mas Deus mesmo disparará sobre eles, e num só momento serão abatidos.8 Tudo o que disserem de mal contra os outros servirá para sua própria condenação.10 Os que seguem a justiça de Deus terão alegria e confiarão nele, assim como os que andam por caminhos rectos.

Hear my voice, O God, in my complaint: Preserve my life from fear of the enemy.2 Hide me from the secret counsel of evildoers, From the tumult of the workers of iniquity;3 Who have whet their tongue like a sword, And have aimed their arrows, even bitter words,4 That they may shoot in secret places at the perfect: Suddenly they shoot at him, and aren't afraid.5 They encourage themselves in an evil purpose; They commune of laying snares secretly; They say, Who will see them?6 They search out iniquities; We have accomplished, [they say], a diligent search: And the inward thought and the heart of a man is deep.7 But God will shoot at them; With an arrow they will suddenly be wounded.8 And they made their own tongue stumble against themselves: All who see them will wag the head.9 And all of man will fear; And they will declare the work of God, And will wisely consider of his doing.10 The righteous will be glad in Yahweh, and will take refuge in him; And all the upright in heart will glory.
