1 Eu amo o Senhor, porque ele ouve a minha voz

e as minhas orações.

2 Ele dá-me atenção e ouve-me.

Enquanto viver, hei de chamar por ele!

3 Cercaram-se laços de morte;

assaltaram-me angústias do mundo dos mortos.

Vi-me profundamente abatido.

4 Então clamei pelo Senhor, gritando pelo seu nome:

"Senhor, salva-me!"

5 Como o Senhor é bom e justo!

É cheio de misericórdia, o nosso Deus!

6 O Senhor protege os simples e os inocentes.

Estava profundamente abatido pelas circunstâncias,

mas ele livrou-me.

7 Agora sim, posso descansar,

porque o Senhor fez uma obra maravilhosa na minha vida.

8 Tu, Senhor, livraste-me da morte,

enxugaste-me as lágrimas dos olhos,

evitaste que os meus pés tropeçassem mortalmente.

9 Agora sei que poderei continuar a viver,

aqui na terra e na presença do Senhor.

10 Acreditei quando falei:

"Eu estive muito aflito."

11 Estando perturbado, eu disse:

"Todo o homem é mentiroso."

12 Mas agora, que hei de dar ao Senhor

por tudo quanto fez por mim?

13 Erguerei diante do Senhor o meu cálice,

agradecendo-lhe a salvação!

14 Hei de oferecer publicamente tudo quanto prometi,

em reconhecimento pelo que me fez!

15 É muito custosa, aos olhos do Senhor,

a morte dos que lhe pertencem!

16 Senhor, tu me livraste das minhas prisões,

por isso, te hei de servir sempre,

assim como a minha mãe te serviu.

17 Oferecer-te-ei sacrifícios de louvor e

invocarei o nome do Senhor.

18 Cumprirei todos os compromissos que fiz ao Senhor,

na presença de todo o seu povo,

19 nos átrios da casa do Senhor,

junto de ti, ó Jerusalém!

7 Return unto thy rest, O my soul; for the LORD hath dealt bountifully with thee.

8 For thou hast delivered my soul from death, mine eyes from tears, and my feet from falling.

9 I will walk before the LORD in the land of the living.

10 I believed, therefore have I spoken: I was greatly afflicted:

11 I said in my haste, All men are liars.

12 What shall I render unto the LORD for all his benefits toward me?

13 I will take the cup of salvation, and call upon the name of the LORD.

14 I will pay my vows unto the LORD now in the presence of all his people.

15 Precious in the sight of the LORD is the death of his saints.

16 O LORD, truly I am thy servant; I am thy servant, and the son of thine handmaid: thou hast loosed my bonds.

17 I will offer to thee the sacrifice of thanksgiving, and will call upon the name of the LORD.

18 I will pay my vows unto the LORD now in the presence of all his people,

19 In the courts of the LORD’s house, in the midst of thee, O Jerusalem. Praise ye the LORD.
