Cântico e Salmo de David.

1 Ó Deus, o meu coração está pronto para te louvar!

Quero cantar-te salmos com toda a minha alma!

2 Que a harpa e a lira comecem a tocar!

Eu mesmo, ao romper do dia, cantarei a Deus.

3 Louvar-te-ei diante dos povos, Senhor;

no meio das nações cantar-te-ei salmos.

4 Pois a tua misericórdia chega aos céus

e a tua fidelidade até às nuvens.

5 Ó Deus, engrandece-te acima dos céus!

Que a tua glória brilhe sobre toda a Terra!

6 Salva-nos, para que o povo que amas seja livre!

Ouve-nos e livra-nos pela força do teu braço direito!

7 Deus jurou pela sua santidade:

"É justo que me encha de alegria;

hei de repartir Siquem e medir o vale de Sucote.

8 Gileade e Manassés ainda são meus;

Efraim é o apoio da minha força

e Judá me dará governantes.

9 Moabe é para mim uma bacia de lavar

e Edom como o sítio onde me descalço.

Sobre a Filisteia bradarei vitória."

10 Quem me conduzirá à cidade fortificada?

Quem me guiará até Edom?

11 Deus o fará, ainda que nos tenha rejeitado

e nos tenha abandonado aos exércitos do inimigo.

12 Auxilia-nos em tempos de aperto,

pois de nada vale o socorro humano!

13 Com Deus faremos coisas formidáveis;

ele esmagará os nossos inimigos.

A Song or Psalm of David.

1 O God, my heart is fixed; I will sing and give praise, even with my glory.

2 Awake, psaltery and harp: I myself will awake early.

3 I will praise thee, O LORD, among the people: and I will sing praises unto thee among the nations.

4 For thy mercy is great above the heavens: and thy truth reacheth unto the clouds.*108.4 clouds: or, skies

5 Be thou exalted, O God, above the heavens: and thy glory above all the earth;

6 That thy beloved may be delivered: save with thy right hand, and answer me.

7 God hath spoken in his holiness; I will rejoice, I will divide Shechem, and mete out the valley of Succoth.

8 Gilead is mine; Manasseh is mine; Ephraim also is the strength of mine head; Judah is my lawgiver;

9 Moab is my washpot; over Edom will I cast out my shoe; over Philistia will I triumph.

10 Who will bring me into the strong city? who will lead me into Edom?

11 Wilt not thou, O God, who hast cast us off? and wilt not thou, O God, go forth with our hosts?

12 Give us help from trouble: for vain is the help of man.

13 Through God we shall do valiantly: for he it is that shall tread down our enemies.
