1 Eu permaneço tranquilo diante de Deus,

visto que só dele vem a minha salvação.

2 Só ele é o meu rochedo,

o meu libertador e o meu defensor;

não me hei de perturbar quando vierem as aflições.

3 Até quando continuarão a tramar o mal contra mim,

querendo derrubar-me como uma parede a cair

ou um muro em ruínas?

4 Só pensam em violência para me levar à ruína;

deleitam-se na mentira e com a boca dizem o bem,

mas no íntimo estão a amaldiçoar. (Pausa)

5 Eu permaneço tranquilo diante de Deus,

visto que só dele vem a minha esperança.

6 Só ele é o meu rochedo,

o meu libertador e o meu defensor;

não me hei de perturbar quando chegarem as aflições.

7 De Deus vem a minha salvação e a minha honra;

ele é o rochedo que me serve de fortaleza.

Sim, o meu refúgio está em Deus!

8 Confia nele, meu povo, em todo o tempo;

apresentem-lhe todo o vosso coração,

porque ele é o nosso refúgio. (Pausa)

9 Tanto as pessoas de alta como de baixa condição,

nada são, sem dúvida, aos olhos de Deus;

pesam menos que o ar numa balança.

10 Não penses que podes prosperar pela opressão;

não fiques satisfeito com o que não passa de roubo.

Se a fortuna aumentar,

não lhe entregues o coração.

11 Deus disse, e tenho ouvido repetidas vezes,

que o verdadeiro poder só a ele pertence.

12 Além disso, a ti, Senhor, pertence a bondade

e recompensas cada um segundo as suas obras.

3 How long will ye imagine mischief against a man? ye shall be slain all of you: as a bowing wall shall ye be, and as a tottering fence.

4 They only consult to cast him down from his excellency: they delight in lies: they bless with their mouth, but they curse inwardly. Selah.*62.4 inwardly: Heb. in their inward parts

5 My soul, wait thou only upon God; for my expectation is from him.

6 He only is my rock and my salvation: he is my defence; I shall not be moved.

7 In God is my salvation and my glory: the rock of my strength, and my refuge, is in God.

8 Trust in him at all times; ye people, pour out your heart before him: God is a refuge for us. Selah.

9 Surely men of low degree are vanity, and men of high degree are a lie: to be laid in the balance, they are altogether lighter than vanity.*62.9 altogether: or, alike

10 Trust not in oppression, and become not vain in robbery: if riches increase, set not your heart upon them.

11 God hath spoken once; twice have I heard this; that power belongeth unto God.*62.11 power: or, strength
