Salmo de David. Poema de instrução.

1 Guarda-me, ó Deus,

porque em ti me refugio.

2 Eu disse ao Senhor:

"Tu és o meu Senhor,

não tenho outra riqueza além de ti."

3 Quero a companhia do povo santo nesta terra;

eles são a verdadeira nobreza.

4 Terão muito a sofrer,

todos esses que prestam culto a outros deuses.

Quanto a mim, nunca hei de oferecer desses sacrifícios,

nem sequer pronunciarei o nome dos seus deuses.

5 O Senhor é a minha herança e a minha recompensa;

tu guardas tudo o que me pertence.

6 Faz com que a parte que me toca, nesta vida, seja deliciosa.

Sim, ele é como uma herança maravilhosa!

7 Louvarei o Senhor que sempre me tem aconselhado;

até durante a noite ele me ensina o que devo fazer.

8 Tenho posto o Senhor continuamente diante de mim;

visto que ele está ao meu lado, não serei movido.

9 Portanto, o meu coração está alegre

e a minha alma está satisfeita;

o meu corpo repousará em segurança.

10 Pois não deixarás a minha alma no mundo dos mortos,

nem permitirás que o teu santo conheça a corrupção.

11 Dás-me a conhecer o caminho da vida

e as abundantes alegrias que há na tua presença.

A vida ao teu lado é um gozo permanente!

2 O my soul, thou hast said unto the LORD, Thou art my Lord: my goodness extendeth not to thee;

3 But to the saints that are in the earth, and to the excellent, in whom is all my delight.

4 Their sorrows shall be multiplied that hasten after another god: their drink offerings of blood will I not offer, nor take up their names into my lips.*16.4 hasten…: or, give gifts to another

5 The LORD is the portion of mine inheritance and of my cup: thou maintainest my lot.*16.5 of mine…: Heb. of my part

6 The lines are fallen unto me in pleasant places; yea, I have a goodly heritage.

7 I will bless the LORD, who hath given me counsel: my reins also instruct me in the night seasons.

8 I have set the LORD always before me: because he is at my right hand, I shall not be moved.

9 Therefore my heart is glad, and my glory rejoiceth: my flesh also shall rest in hope.*16.9 rest…: Heb. dwell confidently

10 For thou wilt not leave my soul in hell; neither wilt thou suffer thine Holy One to see corruption.

11 Thou wilt shew me the path of life: in thy presence is fulness of joy; at thy right hand there are pleasures for evermore.
