2 É em Jerusalém que está a sua habitação, e a sua morada é no Monte Sião!3 É ali que ele destrói as armas de combate do inimigo, de defesa e de ataque, e que anula a guerra que fazem.4 As montanhas eternas não podem ser comparadas contigo em glória.5 Os mais agressivos dos nossos adversários foram despojados. Jazem por terra, no sono da morte.6 Nenhum dos seus mais valentes combatentes foi capaz de continuar a levantar as suas mãos contra nós. Quando os repreendes, ó Deus de Jacob, os carros de combate e os seus ocupantes caem para sempre.7 Por isso és grandemente temido. E quem pode ficar impassível quando te exaltas na tua severidade? A tua sentença faz-se ouvir desde os céus. A terra tremeu e ficou silenciosa diante de ti, quando te levantaste para punir os malfeitores e para defenderes todos os que procuram a paz na terra.10 Porque a cólera inútil dos homens só fará que sejas mais louvado. Os que escaparem à tua cólera, esses servir-te-ão de adorno.11 Cumpram todos os votos que fizerem ao Senhor vosso Deus. Tragam-lhe presentes, os que vivem perto dele, pois é um Deus que deve ser respeitado e temido, porque12 tem na sua mão a vida, mesmo dos homens mais importantes, e faz coisas espantosas em relação até com os governantes da Terra.
