Jeová é inexorável

1 Disse-me Jeová: *Sl 99.6;Ez 14.14,20Ainda que *Êx 32.11-14;Nm 14.13-20;Sl 106.23Moisés e *1Sm 7.9;12.23Samuel *Jr 15.19;Jr 18.20;35.19se apresentassem diante de mim, todavia, a minha alma não poderia estar com este povo; *Jr 7.15;10.18;52.3;2Rs 17.20lança-os de diante de mim, e *Jr 10.20saiam. 2 Quando te perguntarem: Para onde sairemos? Então, lhes responderás: Assim diz Jeová: O que é *Jr 14.12;24.10;43.11;Ez 5.2,12para a morte, para a morte; o que é para a espada, para a espada; o que é para a fome, para a fome; e o que é para o cativeiro, para o cativeiro. 3 *Lv 26.16,22,25;Ez 14.21Porei sobre eles quatro sortes de castigo, diz Jeová: a espada para matar, e *1Rs 21.23-24os cães para dilacerarem, e as *Jr 7.33;Dt 28.26;Is 18.6aves do céu e os animais para devorarem e destruírem. 4 Farei que sejam *Jr 24.9;29.18;Lv 26.33um espetáculo horrendo a todos os reinos da terra, por causa de *2Rs 21.1-18;23.26-27;24.3-4Manassés, filho de Ezequias, rei de Judá, e por causa do que fez em Jerusalém.

5 Pois quem *Jr 13.14;21.7;Sl 69.20se compadecerá de ti, Jerusalém? Quem *Jr 16.5;Is 51.19;Na 3.7se condoerá de ti? Ou quem se desviará para perguntar pela tua paz? 6 Tu me *Jr 6.19;8.9rejeitaste, diz Jeová, *Jr 7.24;Is 1.4voltaste para trás; por isso, *Jr 6.12;Sf 1.4estendi a minha mão contra ti e te destruí; *Jr 6.11;7.16cansado estou de me arrepender. 7 Eu *Jr 51.2;Sl 1.4os cirandei com a pá nas portas da terra; *Jr 18.21;Os 9.12-16já desfilhei, já destruí o meu povo; não voltaram dos seus caminhos. 8 As suas *Is 3.25-26;4.1viúvas se me têm multiplicado mais do que a areia dos mares; fiz vir sobre eles, até sobre a mãe de mancebos, *Jr 22.7um despojador *Jr 6.4ao meio-dia; fiz cair de repente sobre ela angústia e pavor. 9 Desfalece *1Sm 2.5;Is 47.9a que teve sete filhos; exalou o seu espírito, já se pôs *Jr 6.4;Am 8.9o seu sol enquanto ainda era dia; ficou *Jr 50.12envergonhada e confundida. *Jr 21.7Os que ficaram deles, entregá-los-ei à espada diante dos seus inimigos, diz Jeová.

11 Jeová disse: Na verdade, *Sl 138.3;Is 41.10te fortalecerei para o bem; na verdade, farei que *Jr 21.2;37.3;38.14;42.2o inimigo te suplique no tempo de calamidade e no tempo de aflição. 12 Acaso, pode alguém quebrar o ferro, *Jr 28.14o ferro do Norte, e o bronze? 13 A tua *Jr 17.3;20.5substância e os teus tesouros, eu os darei *Is 52.3,5sem preço ao saque, por todos os teus pecados e em todos os teus termos. 14 Farei que passes com os teus inimigos para uma *Jr 16.13;Dt 28.36,64terra que não sabes; porque *Jr 17.4;Sl 21.9o fogo se ateou na minha ira e sobre vós arderá.

15 Tu *Jr 12.3sabes, Jeová; lembra-te de mim, visita-me e *Jr 15.20;Jr 20.2,11vinga-me dos meus perseguidores; pela tua longanimidade, não me arrebates, eu te peço. Sabe que *Jr 20.8;Sl 44.22;69.7-9por amor de ti tenho sofrido afrontas. 16 Acharam-se as tuas palavras, e eu *Ez 3.3as comi; e as *Jó 23.12;Sl 119.103tuas palavras eram para mim o gozo e a alegria do meu coração. Pois sou *Jr 14.9chamado do teu nome, Jeová, Deus dos Exércitos. 17 *Jr 16.8;2Co 6.17Não me sentei na assembleia dos que se alegram, nem me regozijei; sentei-me *Jr 13.17;Sl 102.7;Lm 3.28;Ez 3.24-25a sós por causa da tua mão, pois me *Jr 6.11encheste de indignação. 18 Por que é perpétua a minha dor, e, *Jr 30.12,15;Jó 34.6;Mq 1.9incurável, a minha ferida, que se recusa a ser curada? Acaso, ser-me-ás como um *Jr 14.3;Jó 6.15,20ribeiro enganoso, como águas que não são fiéis?

19 Portanto, assim diz Jeová: *Jr 4.1Se te tornares, então, te farei voltar, *Jr 15.1;Jr 35.19;1Rs 17.1para que te apresentes diante de mim; *Jr 6.29;Ez 22.26;44.23e, se tirares do vil o precioso, serás como a minha boca; voltar-se-ão eles para ti, mas tu não te voltarás para eles. 20 *Jr 1.18-19;6.27;Ez 3.9Dar-te-ei a este povo por um muro fortificado e de bronze; eles pelejarão contra ti, porém contra ti não prevalecerão, porque *Jr 15.15;Jr 1.8,19;Sl 46.7;Is 41.10eu sou contigo para te salvar e para te livrar, diz Jeová. 21 *Jr 20.13;39.11-12;Gn 48.16;Sl 37.40Livrar-te-ei das mãos dos iníquos e *Jr 31.11;50.34;Is 49.26;60.16remir-te-ei das mãos dos terríveis.

1 Then said the LORD unto me, Though Moses and Samuel stood before me, yet my mind could not be toward this people: cast them out of my sight, and let them go forth. 2 And it shall come to pass, if they say unto thee, Whither shall we go forth? then thou shalt tell them, Thus saith the LORD; Such as are for death, to death; and such as are for the sword, to the sword; and such as are for the famine, to the famine; and such as are for the captivity, to the captivity. 3 And I will appoint over them four kinds, saith the LORD: the sword to slay, and the dogs to tear, and the fowls of the heaven, and the beasts of the earth, to devour and destroy.*15.3 kinds: Heb. families 4 And I will cause them to be removed into all kingdoms of the earth, because of Manasseh the son of Hezekiah king of Judah, for that which he did in Jerusalem.*15.4 cause…: Heb. give them for a removing 5 For who shall have pity upon thee, O Jerusalem? or who shall bemoan thee? or who shall go aside to ask how thou doest?*15.5 how…: Heb. of thy peace? 6 Thou hast forsaken me, saith the LORD, thou art gone backward: therefore will I stretch out my hand against thee, and destroy thee; I am weary with repenting. 7 And I will fan them with a fan in the gates of the land; I will bereave them of children, I will destroy my people, since they return not from their ways.*15.7 children: or, whatsoever is dear 8 Their widows are increased to me above the sand of the seas: I have brought upon them against the mother of the young men a spoiler at noonday: I have caused him to fall upon it suddenly, and terrors upon the city.*15.8 the mother…: or, the mother city a young man spoiling, etc, or, the mother and the young men 9 She that hath borne seven languisheth: she hath given up the ghost; her sun is gone down while it was yet day: she hath been ashamed and confounded: and the residue of them will I deliver to the sword before their enemies, saith the LORD.

10 Woe is me, my mother, that thou hast borne me a man of strife and a man of contention to the whole earth! I have neither lent on usury, nor men have lent to me on usury; yet every one of them doth curse me. 11 The LORD said, Verily it shall be well with thy remnant; verily I will cause the enemy to entreat thee well in the time of evil and in the time of affliction.*15.11 cause…: or, intreat the enemy for thee 12 Shall iron break the northern iron and the steel? 13 Thy substance and thy treasures will I give to the spoil without price, and that for all thy sins, even in all thy borders. 14 And I will make thee to pass with thine enemies into a land which thou knowest not: for a fire is kindled in mine anger, which shall burn upon you.

15 O LORD, thou knowest: remember me, and visit me, and revenge me of my persecutors; take me not away in thy longsuffering: know that for thy sake I have suffered rebuke. 16 Thy words were found, and I did eat them; and thy word was unto me the joy and rejoicing of mine heart: for I am called by thy name, O LORD God of hosts.*15.16 I am…: Heb. thy name is called upon me 17 I sat not in the assembly of the mockers, nor rejoiced; I sat alone because of thy hand: for thou hast filled me with indignation. 18 Why is my pain perpetual, and my wound incurable, which refuseth to be healed? wilt thou be altogether unto me as a liar, and as waters that fail?*15.18 fail: Heb. be not sure?

19 Therefore thus saith the LORD, If thou return, then will I bring thee again, and thou shalt stand before me: and if thou take forth the precious from the vile, thou shalt be as my mouth: let them return unto thee; but return not thou unto them. 20 And I will make thee unto this people a fenced brasen wall: and they shall fight against thee, but they shall not prevail against thee: for I am with thee to save thee and to deliver thee, saith the LORD. 21 And I will deliver thee out of the hand of the wicked, and I will redeem thee out of the hand of the terrible.
