Predição do cativeiro e do livramento de Israel

1 Veio a mim *Jr 1.2,4;2.1a palavra de Jeová, dizendo: 2 *1Co 7.26Não tomarás mulher, nem terás filhos nem filhas neste lugar. 3 Pois acerca dos *Jr 6.11filhos e acerca das filhas que nascem neste lugar, e acerca das *Jr 15.8mães que os deram à luz, e acerca dos *Jr 6.21pais que os geraram nesta terra, assim diz Jeová: 4 De mortes terríveis *Jr 15.2morrerão; *Jr 25.33não serão lamentados, nem enterrados; serão como *Jr 9.22;25.33;Sl 83.10esterco sobre a face da terra. Serão *Jr 14.15;44.12,27consumidos à espada e de fome; os seus cadáveres servirão de pasto para *Jr 15.3;34.20;Sl 79.2;Is 18.6as aves do céu e para os animais da terra.

5 Pois assim diz Jeová: Não entreis na casa *Ez 24.16-23de luto, nem vás a lamentá-los, nem te compadeças deles, porque deste povo, diz Jeová, já tirei *Jr 12.12;15.1-4a minha paz, a saber, *Jr 13.14;Is 27.11;Sl 25.6a benignidade e terna compaixão. 6 Morrerão nesta terra *2Cr 36.17;Ez 9.6tanto grandes como pequenos: *Jr 16.4não serão enterrados, não serão lamentados, *Jr 41.5;47.5;Dt 14.1não se farão por eles incisões, nem por eles se raparão os cabelos. 7 Quando estiverem de luto, *Dt 26.14;Ez 24.17;Os 9.4não se repartirá pão entre eles, para os consolar sobre os mortos; nem se lhes dará a beber o copo da consolação por seu pai ou sua mãe. 8 *Jr 15.17;Ec 7.2-4;Is 22.12-14;Os 6.4-6Não entrarás na casa do banquete para te sentares com eles a comer e a beber. 9 Pois assim diz Jeová dos Exércitos, Deus de Israel: Eis que, perante os vossos olhos e em vossos dias, vou *Jr 7.34;25.10;Os 2.11fazer cessar deste lugar a voz de gozo e a voz de alegria, a voz do noivo e a voz da noiva.

10 Quando anunciares a este povo todas essas palavras, e te disserem: *Jr 5.19;13.22;Dt 29.24-25;1Rs 9.8-9Para que pronunciou Jeová contra nós todo este grande mal? Ou qual é a nossa iniquidade? Ou qual é o nosso pecado, que cometemos contra Jeová, nosso Deus? 11 Então, lhes responderás: *Jr 5.7-9;Ne 9.26-29;Sl 106.35-41Porque vossos pais me abandonaram, diz Jeová; porque andaram após *Jr 8.2;Ez 11.21;1Pe 4.3outros deuses, os serviram e os adoraram; porque me abandonaram e não guardaram a minha lei. 12 Vós fizestes o mal ainda *Jr 7.26mais do que vossos pais; pois eis que andais, cada um após a *Jr 7.24;9.14;13.10;1Sm 15.23obstinação do seu *Ec 9.3;Mc 7.21mau coração, de modo que não me escuteis. 13 Portanto, eu vos *Jr 15.1;Dt 4.26-27;2Cr 7.20lançarei fora desta terra *Jr 15.14;17.4para uma terra que não conhecestes, nem vós nem vossos pais; ali, *Jr 5.19;Dt 4.28;28.36servireis a outros deuses de dia e de noite; pois não concederei *Jr 16.5favor algum.

14 *Jr 23.7-8;Is 43.18-19;Os 3.4-5Portanto, eis que vêm os dias, diz Jeová, em que não se dirá mais: Pela vida de Jeová, *Êx 20.2;Dt 15.15que tirou da terra do Egito os filhos de Israel; 15 mas, sim: Pela vida de Jeová, que tirou os filhos de Israel *Jr 3.18;24.6;Sl 106.47;Is 11.11-16;14.1da terra do Norte, bem como de todos os países para onde os tinha lançado. Fá-los-ei voltar para a sua terra, que dei a seus pais.

16 Eis que mandarei vir muitos *Am 4.2;Hc 1.14-15pescadores, diz Jeová, e eles os pescarão; depois, mandarei vir muitos caçadores, e eles os *1Sm 26.20;Mq 7.2caçarão *Is 2.21;Am 9.1-3de todos os montes e de todos os outeiros, e das fendas dos penhascos. 17 *Jr 23.24;32.19;Sl 90.8;Lc 12.2;1Co 4.5;Hb 4.13Pois os meus olhos estão sobre todos os seus caminhos; não se acham eles escondidos da minha face, *Jr 2.22nem está a sua iniquidade encoberta aos meus olhos. 18 Primeiramente, *Jr 17.18;Ap 13.6pagarei em dobro a sua iniquidade e o seu pecado, porque *Jr 2.7;3.9;Nm 35.33-34contaminaram a minha terra com *Jr 7.30;Ez 11.18,21os cadáveres das suas coisas detestáveis e encheram das suas abominações a minha herança.

19 Ó Jeová, *Jr 15.11;Sl 18.1-2;Is 25.4força minha, e fortaleza minha, *Na 1.7e meu refúgio no dia da angústia, a ti virão *Jr 3.17;4.2as nações desde as extremidades da terra e dirão: Nossos pais herdaram tão somente *Jr 10.14;14.22;Is 44.20;Hc 2.18-19mentiras, vaidades e coisas em que não há proveito. 20 Porventura, fará um homem para si deuses, que, contudo, *Jr 2.11;5.7;Sl 115.4-8;Is 37.19;Os 8.4-6não são deuses?

21 Portanto, eis que os farei conhecer, sim, desta vez *Sl 9.16os farei conhecer a minha mão e o meu poder; e *Jr 33.2;Sl 83.18;Is 43.3;Am 5.8saberão que o meu nome é Jeová.

1 The word of the LORD came also unto me, saying, 2 Thou shalt not take thee a wife, neither shalt thou have sons or daughters in this place. 3 For thus saith the LORD concerning the sons and concerning the daughters that are born in this place, and concerning their mothers that bare them, and concerning their fathers that begat them in this land; 4 They shall die of grievous deaths; they shall not be lamented; neither shall they be buried; but they shall be as dung upon the face of the earth: and they shall be consumed by the sword, and by famine; and their carcases shall be meat for the fowls of heaven, and for the beasts of the earth. 5 For thus saith the LORD, Enter not into the house of mourning, neither go to lament nor bemoan them: for I have taken away my peace from this people, saith the LORD, even lovingkindness and mercies.*16.5 mourning: or, mourning feast 6 Both the great and the small shall die in this land: they shall not be buried, neither shall men lament for them, nor cut themselves, nor make themselves bald for them: 7 Neither shall men tear themselves for them in mourning, to comfort them for the dead; neither shall men give them the cup of consolation to drink for their father or for their mother.*16.7 tear…: or, break bread for them 8 Thou shalt not also go into the house of feasting, to sit with them to eat and to drink. 9 For thus saith the LORD of hosts, the God of Israel; Behold, I will cause to cease out of this place in your eyes, and in your days, the voice of mirth, and the voice of gladness, the voice of the bridegroom, and the voice of the bride.

10 And it shall come to pass, when thou shalt shew this people all these words, and they shall say unto thee, Wherefore hath the LORD pronounced all this great evil against us? or what is our iniquity? or what is our sin that we have committed against the LORD our God? 11 Then shalt thou say unto them, Because your fathers have forsaken me, saith the LORD, and have walked after other gods, and have served them, and have worshipped them, and have forsaken me, and have not kept my law; 12 And ye have done worse than your fathers; for, behold, ye walk every one after the imagination of his evil heart, that they may not hearken unto me:*16.12 imagination: or, stubbornness 13 Therefore will I cast you out of this land into a land that ye know not, neither ye nor your fathers; and there shall ye serve other gods day and night; where I will not shew you favour.

14 Therefore, behold, the days come, saith the LORD, that it shall no more be said, The LORD liveth, that brought up the children of Israel out of the land of Egypt; 15 But, The LORD liveth, that brought up the children of Israel from the land of the north, and from all the lands whither he had driven them: and I will bring them again into their land that I gave unto their fathers.

16 Behold, I will send for many fishers, saith the LORD, and they shall fish them; and after will I send for many hunters, and they shall hunt them from every mountain, and from every hill, and out of the holes of the rocks. 17 For mine eyes are upon all their ways: they are not hid from my face, neither is their iniquity hid from mine eyes. 18 And first I will recompense their iniquity and their sin double; because they have defiled my land, they have filled mine inheritance with the carcases of their detestable and abominable things. 19 O LORD, my strength, and my fortress, and my refuge in the day of affliction, the Gentiles shall come unto thee from the ends of the earth, and shall say, Surely our fathers have inherited lies, vanity, and things wherein there is no profit. 20 Shall a man make gods unto himself, and they are no gods? 21 Therefore, behold, I will this once cause them to know, I will cause them to know mine hand and my might; and they shall know that my name is The LORD.*16.21 The LORD: or, JEHOVAH
