Pasur fere a Jeremias e mete-o no cepo

1 Ora, Pasur, filho do sacerdote *1Cr 24.14;Ed 2.37-38Imer, que era *2Rs 25.18superintendente da Casa de Jeová, ouviu a Jeremias profetizando essas coisas. 2 Então, *Jr 1.19;1Rs 22.27;2Cr 16.10;24.21;Am 7.10-13feriu Pasur ao profeta Jeremias e o meteu no *Jó 13.27;33.11cepo que estava na *Jr 37.13;38.7;Zc 14.10porta superior de Benjamim, na Casa de Jeová. 3 No dia seguinte, Pasur tirou do cepo a Jeremias. Então, lhe disse Jeremias: Jeová *Is 8.3;Os 1.4,9não te pôs por nome Pasur, *Jr 20.10;Jr 6.25mas Magor-Missabibe. 4 Pois assim diz Jeová: Eis que te *Jó 18.11-21;Ez 26.21farei um espanto para ti mesmo e para todos os teus amigos; eles cairão pela espada dos seus inimigos, e *Jr 29.21;39.6-7os teus olhos o verão. *Jr 21.4-10;25.9Entregarei a todo o Judá nas mãos do rei de Babilônia, e ele os levará *Jr 13.19;52.27cativos para Babilônia e matá-los-á à espada. 5 Também entregarei todas as *Jr 15.13;17.3riquezas desta cidade, e todos os teus lucros, e todas as tuas coisas preciosas, sim, todos os tesouros dos reis de Judá, entregá-los-ei nas *Jr 27.21-22;2Rs 20.17-18;2Cr 36.10mãos dos seus inimigos, que os despojarão, tomarão e levarão para Babilônia. 6 Tu, *Jr 20.1Pasur, e todos os moradores da tua casa ireis para o cativeiro; *Jr 28.15-17ireis à Babilônia, e ali morrereis, e ali sereis sepultados, tu e todos os teus *Jr 20.4;Jr 14.14-15;Lm 2.14amigos, a quem profetizaste falsamente.

Porque *Jr 6.10;2Cr 36.16a palavra de Jeová se me torna em opróbrio e em ludíbrio o dia todo. 9 Se eu disser: *1Rs 19.3-4;Jn 1.2-3Não farei menção dele, nem falarei mais em seu nome, há *Jr 4.19;23.9;Jó 32.18-20;Sl 39.3;Ez 3.14;At 4.20no meu coração um como fogo ardente, encerrado nos meus ossos, e estou cansado de sofrer e não posso conter-me. 10 Pois *Sl 31.13;57.4;64.2-4tenho ouvido a difamação de muitos, *Jr 6.25há terror por todos os lados. *Jr 18.18;Ne 6.6-13;Is 29.21Denunciai, e o denunciaremos, dizem todos os meus *Sl 41.9íntimos amigos, os que aguardam o meu manquejar; porventura, se deixará *Jr 18.22seduzir, e *1Rs 19.2;22.27prevaleceremos contra ele e dele nos vingaremos. 11 Mas *Jr 1.8;15.20Jeová está comigo como um que é poderoso e terrível; portanto, tropeçarão *Jr 15.15;Dt 32.35-36os meus perseguidores e não prevalecerão. Porque não se houveram sabiamente, ficarão *Jr 17.18grandemente envergonhados, *Jr 23.40com perpétua desonra, que nunca será esquecida. 12 Mas tu, Jeová dos Exércitos, *Jr 11.20;17.10;Sl 7.9;11.5;17.3;139.23que provas o justo, que vês os rins e o coração, permite *Jr 11.20;Sl 59.10que veja eu a tua vingança contra eles; *Sl 62.8porque te revelei a minha causa. 13 *Jr 31.7Cantai a Jeová, louvai a Jeová; porque *Jr 15.21;Sl 34.6;69.33livrou da mão dos malfeitores a alma do necessitado.

14 Maldito seja *Jó 3.3-6o dia em que nasci! Não seja bendito o dia em que me deu à luz minha mãe! 15 Maldito seja o homem que levou, causando-lhe muita alegria, as novas a meu pai, dizendo: Nasceu-te *Gn 21.6-7um filho varão! 16 Seja esse homem como *Jr 23.14;49.18;50.40;Gn 19.24-25;Os 11.8;Sf 2.9as cidades que Jeová subverteu, sem se arrepender. Ouça ele *Jr 48.3-4um clamor pela manhã e um alarido ao meio-dia. 17 Por que *Jó 3.10-11,16;10.18-19não me matou no ventre? Assim minha mãe teria sido a minha sepultura e teria ficado para sempre grávida! 18 Por que saí do ventre *Jr 15.10;Jó 3.20;5.7;14.1para ver trabalho e tristeza, de sorte que *Sl 90.9;102.3os meus dias se consumissem de *Jr 3.25;Sl 69.19;1Co 4.9-13vergonha?

1 Now Pashur the son of Immer the priest, who was also chief governor in the house of the LORD, heard that Jeremiah prophesied these things. 2 Then Pashur smote Jeremiah the prophet, and put him in the stocks that were in the high gate of Benjamin, which was by the house of the LORD. 3 And it came to pass on the morrow, that Pashur brought forth Jeremiah out of the stocks. Then said Jeremiah unto him, The LORD hath not called thy name Pashur, but Magor-missabib.*20.3 Magor-missabib: that is, Fear round about 4 For thus saith the LORD, Behold, I will make thee a terror to thyself, and to all thy friends: and they shall fall by the sword of their enemies, and thine eyes shall behold it: and I will give all Judah into the hand of the king of Babylon, and he shall carry them captive into Babylon, and shall slay them with the sword. 5 Moreover I will deliver all the strength of this city, and all the labours thereof, and all the precious things thereof, and all the treasures of the kings of Judah will I give into the hand of their enemies, which shall spoil them, and take them, and carry them to Babylon. 6 And thou, Pashur, and all that dwell in thine house shall go into captivity: and thou shalt come to Babylon, and there thou shalt die, and shalt be buried there, thou, and all thy friends, to whom thou hast prophesied lies.

7 O LORD, thou hast deceived me, and I was deceived: thou art stronger than I, and hast prevailed: I am in derision daily, every one mocketh me.*20.7 was deceived: or, was enticed 8 For since I spake, I cried out, I cried violence and spoil; because the word of the LORD was made a reproach unto me, and a derision, daily. 9 Then I said, I will not make mention of him, nor speak any more in his name. But his word was in mine heart as a burning fire shut up in my bones, and I was weary with forbearing, and I could not stay.

10 For I heard the defaming of many, fear on every side. Report, say they, and we will report it. All my familiars watched for my halting, saying, Peradventure he will be enticed, and we shall prevail against him, and we shall take our revenge on him.*20.10 All…: Heb. Every man of my peace 11 But the LORD is with me as a mighty terrible one: therefore my persecutors shall stumble, and they shall not prevail: they shall be greatly ashamed; for they shall not prosper: their everlasting confusion shall never be forgotten. 12 But, O LORD of hosts, that triest the righteous, and seest the reins and the heart, let me see thy vengeance on them: for unto thee have I opened my cause. 13 Sing unto the LORD, praise ye the LORD: for he hath delivered the soul of the poor from the hand of evildoers.

14 Cursed be the day wherein I was born: let not the day wherein my mother bare me be blessed. 15 Cursed be the man who brought tidings to my father, saying, A man child is born unto thee; making him very glad. 16 And let that man be as the cities which the LORD overthrew, and repented not: and let him hear the cry in the morning, and the shouting at noontide; 17 Because he slew me not from the womb; or that my mother might have been my grave, and her womb to be always great with me. 18 Wherefore came I forth out of the womb to see labour and sorrow, that my days should be consumed with shame?
