O pecado de Judá é indelével

1 *Jr 2.22;4.14O pecado de Judá está escrito com um *Jó 19.24ponteiro de ferro e com a ponta dum diamante; *Pv 3.3;7.3;Is 49.16;2Co 3.3gravado está na tábua do seu coração e nos chifres dos vossos altares. 2 enquanto os seus *Jr 7.18filhos se lembram dos seus altares, e dos seus *Êx 34.13Aserins junto às *Jr 3.6árvores frondosas, sobre os altos outeiros. 3 Ó meu *Jr 26.18;Mq 3.12monte que te elevas sobre o campo, a tua substância e todos os teus tesouros, bem como os teus altos, *Jr 15.13;20.5;2Rs 24.13;Is 39.4-6dá-los-ei como despojo por causa do pecado, em todos os teus termos. 4 Tu *Jr 12.7;Lm 5.2abandonarás a tua herança que te dei, e farei que sirvas aos teus *Jr 15.14;27.12-13;Dt 28.48;Is 14.3inimigos na terra que não conheces; porque *Jr 7.20;15.14;Is 5.25ateaste um fogo na minha ira, o qual arderá para sempre.

Em Jeová unicamente deve ser posta a confiança

5 Assim diz Jeová: *Sl 146.3;Is 2.22;30.1;Ez 29.6-7Maldito é o homem que confia no homem, põe a *2Cr 32.8;Is 31.3carne por seu braço e cujo coração se desvia de Jeová! 6 Porque será como o *Jr 48.6junípero no deserto e não verá quando vier o bem; mas habitará nos lugares áridos do ermo, *Dt 29.23;Jó 39.6numa terra de salsugem e despovoada. 7 *Sl 34.8;84.12Bendito é o homem que confia em Jeová *Sl 40.4e de quem Jeová é a confiança! 8 Porque será como *Sl 1.3;92.12-14;Ez 31.3-9a árvore plantada junto às águas, que estende as suas raízes à margem dum ribeiro; não temerá quando vier o calor, mas a sua folha será verde; no ano de *Jr 14.1-6seca, não andará cuidadoso, nem deixará de dar fruto.

9 *Mc 7.21-22;Rm 7.11;Ef 4.22Enganoso é o coração acima de todas as coisas *Ec 9.3;Is 1.6;6.10;Mt 13.15;Mc 2.17;Rm 1.21e gravemente enfermo; quem o poderá conhecer? 10 Eu, Jeová, *Jr 11.20;20.12;1Sm 16.7;Rm 8.27esquadrinho o coração, provo os rins, para dar a cada um segundo os seus caminhos, segundo o fruto dos seus feitos. 11 Como a perdiz que ajunta pintainhos que não são do seu ninho, assim é o que *Jr 6.13;8.10;22.13,17ajunta riquezas, porém não com direito; no meio dos seus dias, as deixará, e, no seu fim, se mostrará insensato.

12 Um *Jr 3.17;14.21trono de glória, exaltado desde o princípio, é o lugar do nosso santuário. 13 Ó Jeová, *Jr 14.8;50.7Esperança de Israel! Todos os que te abandonarem serão envergonhados; os que *Jr 17.5;Sl 73.27se desviarem de ti, serão escritos sobre a terra, porque *Jr 2.13,17abandonaram a Jeová, fonte das águas vivas. 14 *Jr 30.17;33.6Cura-me, Jeová, e serei curado; *Sl 54.1;60.5salva-me, e serei salvo, porque tu és o meu *Dt 10.21;Sl 109.1louvor. 15 Eis que eles me *Is 5.19;Am 5.18dizem: Onde está a palavra de Jeová? Que venha agora! 16 Quanto a mim, *Jr 1.6;20.9não me apressei em deixar de ser pastor após ti, nem tampouco desejei o dia calamitoso; *Jr 12.3tu sabes; o que saiu dos meus lábios foi diante da tua face. 17 Não me sejas *Sl 88.15motivo de pavor; *Jr 16.19;Na 1.7meu refúgio és tu no dia da calamidade. 18 Sejam *Jr 17.13;Jr 20.11;Sl 35.4,26envergonhados os que me perseguem, porém não seja eu envergonhado; assombrem-se eles, porém *Jr 1.17não me assombre eu; *Sl 35.8faze vir sobre eles o dia da calamidade e quebra-os com *Jr 16.18dobrado quebrantamento.

A santificação do sábado

19 Assim me disse Jeová: Vai *Jr 7.2;26.2e põe-te na porta dos filhos do povo, pela qual entram os reis de Judá e pela qual saem, como também em todas as portas de Jerusalém, 20 e dize-lhes: Ouvi a palavra de Jeová, *Jr 19.3-4;Sl 49.1-2;Os 5.1;Am 4.1reis de Judá, e todo o Judá, e todos os habitantes de Jerusalém que entrais por estas portas. 21 Assim diz Jeová: *Dt 4.9,15,23;Mc 4.24Guardai-vos a vós mesmos *Nm 15.32-36;Ne 13.15-21;Jo 5.9-12e não queirais trazer cargas no dia do sábado, nem as introduzais pelas portas de Jerusalém; 22 nem das vossas casas tireis cargas no dia do sábado, nem façais *Êx 16.23-29;20.8-10;Dt 5.12-14;Is 56.2-6;58.13trabalho algum; antes, santificai o dia do sábado, como *Êx 31.13-17;Ez 20.12;Zc 1.4ordenei a vossos pais. 23 Porém *Jr 7.24,28;11.10não escutaram, nem inclinaram os seus ouvidos, *Jr 7.26;19.15;Pv 29.1mas endureceram a sua cerviz, para não me ouvirem, para não receberem instruções.

24 Se *Êx 15.26;Dt 11.13;Is 21.7;55.2diligentemente me ouvirdes, diz Jeová, *Jr 17.21-22para não introduzirdes cargas pelas portas desta cidade no dia do sábado, mas *Êx 20.8-11;Ez 20.20para santificardes o dia do sábado, sem fazerdes nele trabalho algum, 25 *Jr 22.4pelas portas desta cidade entrarão reis e príncipes, *Jr 33.15,17,21;2Sm 7.16;Is 9.7;Lc 1.32que se assentarão sobre o trono de Davi e andarão em carros e montados em cavalos, eles e os seus príncipes, os homens de Judá e os habitantes de Jerusalém; e esta cidade *Sl 132.13-14;Hb 12.22permanecerá para sempre. 26 Virão das *Jr 32.44;33.13cidades de Judá, e dos contornos de Jerusalém, e da terra de Benjamim, e da planície, e da região montanhosa, *Zc 7.7e do Neguebe, trazendo à Casa de Jeová *Jr 33.18holocaustos, e sacrifícios, e oblações, e incenso, *Jr 33.11;Sl 107.22trazendo também sacrifícios de ação de graças. 27 Se, *Jr 22.5;26.4;Is 1.20;Zc 7.11-14porém, não me ouvirdes para santificardes o dia do sábado e para no dia do sábado cessardes de trazer carga e entrar com ela pelas portas de Jerusalém; *Jr 11.16;21.14;Is 9.18-19acenderei fogo nas portas dela, fogo que *Jr 39.8;Am 2.5devorará os palácios de Jerusalém e *Jr 7.20;Ez 20.47não se apagará.

1 The sin of Judah is written with a pen of iron, and with the point of a diamond: it is graven upon the table of their heart, and upon the horns of your altars;*17.1 point: Heb. nail 2 Whilst their children remember their altars and their groves by the green trees upon the high hills. 3 O my mountain in the field, I will give thy substance and all thy treasures to the spoil, and thy high places for sin, throughout all thy borders. 4 And thou, even thyself, shalt discontinue from thine heritage that I gave thee; and I will cause thee to serve thine enemies in the land which thou knowest not: for ye have kindled a fire in mine anger, which shall burn for ever.*17.4 thyself: Heb. in thyself

5 Thus saith the LORD; Cursed be the man that trusteth in man, and maketh flesh his arm, and whose heart departeth from the LORD. 6 For he shall be like the heath in the desert, and shall not see when good cometh; but shall inhabit the parched places in the wilderness, in a salt land and not inhabited. 7 Blessed is the man that trusteth in the LORD, and whose hope the LORD is. 8 For he shall be as a tree planted by the waters, and that spreadeth out her roots by the river, and shall not see when heat cometh, but her leaf shall be green; and shall not be careful in the year of drought, neither shall cease from yielding fruit.*17.8 drought: or, restraint

9 The heart is deceitful above all things, and desperately wicked: who can know it? 10 I the LORD search the heart, I try the reins, even to give every man according to his ways, and according to the fruit of his doings. 11 As the partridge sitteth on eggs, and hatcheth them not; so he that getteth riches, and not by right, shall leave them in the midst of his days, and at his end shall be a fool.*17.11 sitteth…: or, gathereth young which she hath not brought forth

12 A glorious high throne from the beginning is the place of our sanctuary. 13 O LORD, the hope of Israel, all that forsake thee shall be ashamed, and they that depart from me shall be written in the earth, because they have forsaken the LORD, the fountain of living waters. 14 Heal me, O LORD, and I shall be healed; save me, and I shall be saved: for thou art my praise.

15 Behold, they say unto me, Where is the word of the LORD? let it come now. 16 As for me, I have not hastened from being a pastor to follow thee: neither have I desired the woeful day; thou knowest: that which came out of my lips was right before thee.*17.16 to…: Heb. after thee 17 Be not a terror unto me: thou art my hope in the day of evil. 18 Let them be confounded that persecute me, but let not me be confounded: let them be dismayed, but let not me be dismayed: bring upon them the day of evil, and destroy them with double destruction.*17.18 destroy…: Heb. break them with a double breach

19 Thus said the LORD unto me; Go and stand in the gate of the children of the people, whereby the kings of Judah come in, and by the which they go out, and in all the gates of Jerusalem; 20 And say unto them, Hear ye the word of the LORD, ye kings of Judah, and all Judah, and all the inhabitants of Jerusalem, that enter in by these gates: 21 Thus saith the LORD; Take heed to yourselves, and bear no burden on the sabbath day, nor bring it in by the gates of Jerusalem; 22 Neither carry forth a burden out of your houses on the sabbath day, neither do ye any work, but hallow ye the sabbath day, as I commanded your fathers. 23 But they obeyed not, neither inclined their ear, but made their neck stiff, that they might not hear, nor receive instruction. 24 And it shall come to pass, if ye diligently hearken unto me, saith the LORD, to bring in no burden through the gates of this city on the sabbath day, but hallow the sabbath day, to do no work therein; 25 Then shall there enter into the gates of this city kings and princes sitting upon the throne of David, riding in chariots and on horses, they, and their princes, the men of Judah, and the inhabitants of Jerusalem: and this city shall remain for ever. 26 And they shall come from the cities of Judah, and from the places about Jerusalem, and from the land of Benjamin, and from the plain, and from the mountains, and from the south, bringing burnt offerings, and sacrifices, and meat offerings, and incense, and bringing sacrifices of praise, unto the house of the LORD. 27 But if ye will not hearken unto me to hallow the sabbath day, and not to bear a burden, even entering in at the gates of Jerusalem on the sabbath day; then will I kindle a fire in the gates thereof, and it shall devour the palaces of Jerusalem, and it shall not be quenched.
