Para o mestre de música. Salmo de Davi.

1 Que o Senhor lhe responda no tempo da angústia;

que o nome do Deus de Jacó o proteja!

2 Do santuário lhe envie auxílio

e de Sião lhe dê apoio.

3 Lembre-se ele de todas as suas ofertas

e aceite os seus holocaustos.*20.3 Isto é, sacrifícios totalmente queimados.Pausa

4 Conceda-lhe o desejo do seu coração

e leve a efeito todos os seus planos.

5 Saudaremos a sua vitória com gritos de alegria

e hastearemos bandeiras em nome do nosso Deus.

Que o Senhor atenda a todos os seus pedidos!

6 Agora sei que o Senhor salva o seu ungido;

dos seus santos céus lhe responderá

com o poder salvador da sua mão direita.

7 Alguns confiam em carros de guerra, outros confiam em cavalos;

nós, porém, confiamos no nome do Senhor, o nosso Deus.

8 Eles vacilam e caem,

mas nós nos erguemos e nos manteremos firmes.

9 Ó Senhor, concede vitória ao rei!

1 May the Lord answer you when you are in distress;

may the name of the God of Jacob protect you.

2 May he send you help from the sanctuary

and grant you support from Zion.

3 May he remember all your sacrifices

and accept your burnt offerings.*20:3 The Hebrew has Selah (a word of uncertain meaning) here.

4 May he give you the desire of your heart

and make all your plans succeed.

5 May we shout for joy over your victory

and lift up our banners in the name of our God.

May the Lord grant all your requests.

6 Now this I know:

The Lord gives victory to his anointed.

He answers him from his heavenly sanctuary

with the victorious power of his right hand.

7 Some trust in chariots and some in horses,

but we trust in the name of the Lord our God.

8 They are brought to their knees and fall,

but we rise up and stand firm.

9 Lord, give victory to the king!

Answer us when we call!
