1 Os céus proclamam a glória de Deus;

o firmamento demonstra a habilidade de suas mãos.

2 Dia após dia, eles continuam a falar;

noite após noite, eles o tornam conhecido.

3 Não há som nem palavras,

nunca se ouve o que eles dizem.*19.3 Ou Não há discurso nem linguagem em que não se ouça sua voz.

4 Sua mensagem, porém, chegou a toda a terra,

e suas palavras, aos confins do mundo.

Deus preparou no céu

uma morada para o sol.

5 Dela o sol irrompe como o noivo depois do casamento;

alegra-se como o valente guerreiro em seu caminho.

6 O sol nasce numa extremidade do céu

e realiza seu trajeto até a outra extremidade;

nada pode se esconder de seu calor.

7 A lei do Senhor é perfeita

e revigora a alma.

Os decretos do Senhor são dignos de confiança

e dão sabedoria aos ingênuos.

8 Os preceitos do Senhor são justos

e alegram o coração.

Os mandamentos do Senhor são límpidos

e iluminam a vida.

9 O temor do Senhor é puro

e dura para sempre.

As instruções do Senhor são verdadeiras

e todas elas são corretas.

10 São mais desejáveis que o ouro,

mesmo o ouro puro.

São mais doces que o mel,

mesmo o mel que goteja do favo.

11 São uma advertência para teu servo,

grande recompensa para quem os cumpre.

12 Quem é capaz de distinguir os próprios erros?

Absolve-me das faltas que me são ocultas.

13 Livra teu servo dos pecados intencionais!

Não permitas que me controlem.

Então serei inculpável

e inocente de grande pecado.

14 Que as palavras da minha boca

e a meditação do meu coração

sejam agradáveis a ti, Senhor,

minha rocha e meu redentor!
