1 Louvado seja o Senhor!

Como é bom cantar louvores a nosso Deus!

Como é agradável e apropriado!

2 O Senhor reconstrói Jerusalém

e traz os exilados de volta a Israel.

3 Ele cura os de coração quebrantado

e enfaixa suas feridas.

4 Conta as estrelas

e chama cada uma pelo nome.

5 Nosso Senhor é grande! Seu poder é absoluto!

É impossível medir seu entendimento.

6 O Senhor protege os humildes,

mas lança os perversos no pó.

7 Cantem com ações de graças ao Senhor,

cantem ao nosso Deus louvores com a harpa.

8 Ele cobre os céus de nuvens,

provê chuva para a terra

e faz o capim crescer nos montes.

9 Alimenta os animais selvagens

e dá de comer aos filhotes dos corvos quando pedem.

10 Seu prazer não está na força do cavalo,

nem no poder humano.

11 O Senhor se agrada dos que o temem,

dos que põem a esperança em seu amor.

12 Exalte o Senhor, ó Jerusalém!

Louve seu Deus, ó Sião!

13 Pois ele reforçou as trancas de suas portas

e abençoou seus filhos dentro de seus muros.

14 Ele conserva a paz em suas fronteiras

e satisfaz sua fome com o melhor trigo.

15 Ele envia suas ordens ao mundo,

e sua palavra corre veloz.

16 Envia a neve como lã branca

e espalha a geada sobre a terra como cinzas.

17 Lança granizo como pedras;*147.17 Em hebraico, como migalhas de pão.

quem é capaz de suportar o frio intenso?

18 Então, por sua ordem, tudo se dissolve;

envia seus ventos, e o gelo derrete.

19 Ele revelou sua palavra a Jacó,

seus decretos e estatutos, a Israel.

20 Não fez o mesmo com nenhuma outra nação;

elas não conhecem seus estatutos.

1 Praise ye the LORD: for it is good to sing praises unto our God; for it is pleasant; and praise is comely.

2 The LORD doth build up Jerusalem: he gathereth together the outcasts of Israel.

4 He telleth the number of the stars; he calleth them all by their names.

6 The LORD lifteth up the meek: he casteth the wicked down to the ground.

7 Sing unto the LORD with thanksgiving; sing praise upon the harp unto our God:

8 Who covereth the heaven with clouds, who prepareth rain for the earth, who maketh grass to grow upon the mountains.

9 He giveth to the beast his food, and to the young ravens which cry.

10 He delighteth not in the strength of the horse: he taketh not pleasure in the legs of a man.

11 The LORD taketh pleasure in them that fear him, in those that hope in his mercy.

12 Praise the LORD, O Jerusalem; praise thy God, O Zion.

13 For he hath strengthened the bars of thy gates; he hath blessed thy children within thee.

15 He sendeth forth his commandment upon earth: his word runneth very swiftly.

16 He giveth snow like wool: he scattereth the hoarfrost like ashes.

18 He sendeth out his word, and melteth them: he causeth his wind to blow, and the waters flow.

19 He sheweth his word unto Jacob, his statutes and his judgments unto Israel.*147.19 his word: Heb. his words

20 He hath not dealt so with any nation: and as for his judgments, they have not known them. Praise ye the LORD.
