Salmo de Davi, em que pede a Deus que se lembre dele.

1 Ó Senhor, não me repreendas em tua ira,

nem me disciplines em tua fúria!

2 Tuas flechas se cravam fundo em mim,

e o peso de tua mão me esmaga.

3 Por causa de tua ira, todo o meu corpo adoece;

minha saúde está arruinada, por causa de meu pecado.

4 Minha culpa me sufoca;

é um fardo pesado e insuportável.

5 Minhas feridas infeccionaram e cheiram mal,

por causa de minha insensatez.

6 Estou encurvado e atormentado;

entristecido, ando o dia todo de um lado para o outro.

7 Meu corpo arde em febre,

minha saúde está arruinada.

8 Estou exausto e abatido;

meus gemidos vêm de um coração angustiado.

9 Tu conheces meus desejos, Senhor,

e ouves cada um de meus suspiros.

10 Meu coração bate depressa, minhas forças se esvaem,

e a luz de meus olhos se apaga.

11 Amigos e conhecidos se afastam de mim,

por causa de minha doença,

e até minha família se mantém distante.

12 Meus inimigos preparam armadilhas para me matar;

os que desejam meu mal tramam para me arruinar

e passam o dia planejando sua traição.

13 Eu, porém, me faço de surdo para suas ameaças;

como mudo, permaneço calado diante deles.

14 Escolhi nada ouvir

e nada responder.

15 Pois espero por ti, ó Senhor;

responde por mim, Senhor, meu Deus.

16 Orei: "Não deixes que meus inimigos zombem de mim,

nem que se divirtam com minha queda".

17 Estou à beira de um colapso;

enfrento dor constante.

18 Confesso, porém, minha culpa;

sinto profundo lamento do que fiz.

19 Meus inimigos são muitos e fortes;

eles me odeiam sem razão.

20 Pagam o bem com o mal

e opõem-se a mim porque procuro o bem.

21 Não me abandones, Senhor;

não permaneças distante, meu Deus.

22 Vem depressa me ajudar,

ó Senhor, meu salvador!

1 O LORD, rebuke me not in thy wrath: neither chasten me in thy hot displeasure.

2 For thine arrows stick fast in me, and thy hand presseth me sore.

5 My wounds stink and are corrupt because of my foolishness.

7 For my loins are filled with a loathsome disease: and there is no soundness in my flesh.

8 I am feeble and sore broken: I have roared by reason of the disquietness of my heart.

9 Lord, all my desire is before thee; and my groaning is not hid from thee.

12 They also that seek after my life lay snares for me: and they that seek my hurt speak mischievous things, and imagine deceits all the day long.

13 But I, as a deaf man, heard not; and I was as a dumb man that openeth not his mouth.

14 Thus I was as a man that heareth not, and in whose mouth are no reproofs.

16 For I said, Hear me, lest otherwise they should rejoice over me: when my foot slippeth, they magnify themselves against me.
