1 Ó Deus, tu és meu Deus;

eu te busco de todo o coração.

Minha alma tem sede de ti;

todo o meu corpo anseia por ti

nesta terra seca, exausta

e sem água.

2 Eu te vi em teu santuário

e contemplei teu poder e tua glória.

3 Teu amor é melhor que a própria vida;

com meus lábios te louvarei.

4 Sim, te louvarei enquanto viver;

a ti em oração levantarei as mãos.

5 Tu me satisfazes mais que um rico banquete;

com cânticos de alegria te louvarei.

6 Quando me deito, fico acordado pensando em ti,

meditando a teu respeito a noite toda.

7 Pois tu és meu auxílio;

à sombra de tuas asas canto de alegria.

8 Minha alma se apega a ti;

tua forte mão direita me sustenta.

9 Aqueles, porém, que tramam me destruir

descerão às profundezas da terra.

10 Morrerão pela espada

e servirão de comida para os chacais.

11 O rei, contudo, se alegrará em Deus;

todos que juraram falar a verdade o louvarão,

mas os mentirosos serão calados.

2 To see thy power and thy glory, so as I have seen thee in the sanctuary.

3 Because thy lovingkindness is better than life, my lips shall praise thee.

4 Thus will I bless thee while I live: I will lift up my hands in thy name.

6 When I remember thee upon my bed, and meditate on thee in the night watches.

7 Because thou hast been my help, therefore in the shadow of thy wings will I rejoice.

8 My soul followeth hard after thee: thy right hand upholdeth me.

9 But those that seek my soul, to destroy it, shall go into the lower parts of the earth.
