| 6 | Forsake her not, and she shall preserve thee: love her, and she shall keep thee. | Ne hagyd el azt, és megtart téged; szeresd azt, és megõriz téged. |
| 7 | Wisdom is the principal thing; therefore get wisdom: and with all thy getting get understanding. | A bölcseség kezdete [ez:] szerezz bölcseséget, és minden keresményedbõl szerezz értelmet. |
| 8 | Exalt her, and she shall promote thee: she shall bring thee to honor, when thou dost embrace her. | Magasztald fel azt, és felmagasztal téged; tiszteltté tesz téged, ha hozzád öleled azt. |
| 9 | She shall give to thy head an ornament of grace: a crown of glory shall she deliver to thee. | Ád a te fejednek kedvességnek koszorúját; igen szép ékes koronát ád néked. |
| 10 | Hear, O my son, and receive my sayings; and the years of thy life shall be many. | Hallgasd, fiam, és vedd be az én beszédimet; így sokasulnak meg néked a te életednek esztendei. |
| 11 | I have taught thee in the way of wisdom; I have led thee in right paths. | Bölcseségnek útára tanítottalak téged, vezettelek téged az igazságnak ösvényin. |
| 12 | When thou goest, thy steps shall not be straitened; and when thou runnest, thou shalt not stumble. | Mikor jársz, semmi nem szorítja meg a te járásodat; és ha futsz, nem ütközöl meg. |
| 13 | Take fast hold of instruction; let her not go: keep her; for she is thy life. | Ragaszkodjál az erkölcsi tanításhoz, ne hagyd el; õrizd meg azt, mert az a te életed. |
| 14 | Enter not into the path of the wicked, and go not in the way of evil men. | A hitetleneknek útjára ne menj, se ne járj a gonoszok ösvényén. |
| 15 | Avoid it, pass not by it, turn from it, and pass away. | Hagyd el, át ne menj rajta; térj el tõle, és menj tovább. |
| 16 | For they sleep not, except they have done mischief; and their sleep is taken away, unless they cause some to fall. | Mert nem alhatnak azok, ha gonoszt nem cselekesznek: és kimegy szemükbõl az álom, ha [mást] romlásra nem juttatnak. |
| 17 | For they eat the bread of wickedness, and drink the wine of violence. | Mert az istentelenségnek étkét eszik, és az erõszaktételnek borát iszszák. |
| 18 | But the path of the just is as the shining light, that shineth more and more to the perfect day. | Az igazak ösvénye pedig olyan, mint a hajnal világossága, mely [minél tovább] halad, [annál] világosabb lesz, a teljes délig. |
| 19 | The way of the wicked is as darkness: they know not at what they stumble. | Az istentelenek útja pedig olyan, mint a homály, nem tudják miben ütköznek meg. |
| 20 | My son, attend to my words; incline thy ear to my sayings. | Fiam, az én szavaimra figyelmezz, az én beszédimre hajtsad füledet. |
| 21 | Let them not depart from thy eyes; keep them in the midst of thy heart. | Ne távozzanak el a te szemeidtõl, tartsd meg ezeket a te elmédben. |
| 22 | For they are life to those that find them, and health to all their flesh. | Mert életök ezek azoknak, a kik megnyerik, és egész testöknek egészség. |
| 23 | Keep thy heart with all diligence; for out of it are the issues of life. | Minden féltett dolognál jobban õrizd meg szívedet, mert abból indul ki [minden] élet. |
| 24 | Put away from thee a froward mouth, and perverse lips put far from thee. | Vesd el tõled a száj hamisságát, és az ajkak álnokságát távoztasd el magadtól. |
| 25 | Let thy eyes look right on, and let thy eyelids look straight before thee. | A te szemeid elõre nézzenek, és szemöldökid egyenest magad elé irányuljanak. |
| 26 | Ponder the path of thy feet, and let all thy ways be established. | Egyengesd el lábaid ösvényit, s minden te útaid állhatatosak legyenek. |
| 27 | Turn not to the right hand nor to the left: remove thy foot from evil. | Ne térj jobbra, se balra, fordítsd el a te lábadat a gonosztól. |
