| 4 | It is not for kings, O Lemuel, it is not for kings to drink wine; nor for princes strong drink: | Távol legyen a királyoktól, oh Lemuel, távol legyen a királyoktól a bornak itala; és az uralkodóktól a részegítõ ital keresése. |
| 5 | Lest they drink, and forget the law, and pervert the judgment of any of the afflicted. | Hogy mikor iszik, el ne felejtkezzék a törvényrõl, és el ne fordítsa valamely nyomorultnak igazságát. |
| 6 | Give strong drink to him that is ready to perish, and wine to those that are of heavy hearts. | Adjátok a részegítõ italt az elveszendõnek, és a bort a keseredett szívûeknek. |
| 7 | Let him drink, and forget his poverty, and remember his misery no more. | Igyék, hogy felejtkezzék az õ szegénységérõl, és az õ nyavalyájáról ne emlékezzék meg többé. |
| 8 | Open thy mouth for the dumb in the cause of all such as are appointed to destruction. | Nyisd meg a te szádat a mellett, a ki néma, és azoknak dolgában, a kik adattak veszedelemre. |
| 9 | Open thy mouth, judge righteously, and plead the cause of the poor and needy. | Nyisd meg a te szádat, ítélj igazságot; forgasd ügyét a szegénynek és a szûkölködõnek! |
| 10 | Who can find a virtuous woman? for her price is far above rubies. | Derék asszonyt kicsoda találhat? Mert ennek ára sokkal felülhaladja az igazgyöngyöket. |
| 11 | The heart of her husband doth safely trust in her, so that he shall have no need of spoil. | Bízik ahhoz az õ férjének lelke, és annak marhája el nem fogy. |

| 17 | She girdeth her loins with strength, and strengtheneth her arms. | Az õ derekát felövezi erõvel, és megerõsíti karjait. |
| 18 | She perceiveth that her merchandise is good: her candle goeth not out by night. | Látja, hogy hasznos az õ munkálkodása; éjjel sem alszik el az õ világa. |
| 19 | She layeth her hands to the spindle, and her hands hold the distaff. | Kezeit veti a fonókerékre, és kezeivel fogja az orsót. |
| 20 | She stretcheth out her hand to the poor; yes, she reacheth forth her hands to the needy. | Markát megnyitja a szegénynek, és kezeit nyújtja a szûkölködõnek. |
| 21 | She is not afraid of the snow for her household: for all her household are clothed with scarlet. | Nem félti az õ házanépét a hótól; mert egész házanépe karmazsinba öltözött. |
| 22 | She maketh herself coverings of tapestry; her clothing is silk and purple. | Szõnyegeket csinál magának; patyolat és bíbor az õ öltözete. |
| 23 | Her husband is known in the gates, when he sitteth among the elders of the land. | Ismerik az õ férjét a kapukban, mikor ül a tartománynak véneivel. |
| 24 | She maketh fine linen, and selleth it; and delivereth girdles to the merchant. | Gyolcsot szõ, és eladja; és övet, melyet ád a kereskedõnek. |
| 25 | Strength and honor are her clothing; and she shall rejoice in time to come. | Erõ és ékesség az õ ruhája; és nevet a következõ napnak. |
| 26 | She openeth her mouth with wisdom; and on her tongue is the law of kindness. | Az õ száját bölcsen nyitja meg, és kedves tanítás van nyelvén. |
| 27 | She looketh well to the ways of her household, and eateth not the bread of idleness. | Vigyáz a házanépe dolgára, és restségnek étkét nem eszi. |
| 28 | Her children rise up, and call her blessed; her husband also, and he praiseth her. | Felkelnek az õ fiai, és boldognak mondják õt; az õ férje, és dicséri õt: |
| 29 | Many daughters have done virtuously, but thou excellest them all. | Sok leány munkálkodott serénységgel; de te meghaladod mindazokat! |
| 30 | Favor is deceitful, and beauty is vain: but a woman that feareth the LORD, she shall be praised. | Csalárd a kedvesség, és hiábavaló a szépség; a mely asszony féli az Urat, az szerez dicséretet magának! |
| 31 | Give her of the fruit of her hands; and let her own works praise her in the gates. | Adjatok ennek az õ keze munkájának gyümölcsébõl, és dicsérjék õt a kapukban az õ cselekedetei! |
