1 O Senhor é a minha luz e a minha salvação; de quem terei temor? O Senhor é o meu forte refúgio; de quem terei medo?2 Quando homens maus avançarem contra mim para destruir-me, eles, meus inimigos e meus adversários, é que tropeçarão e cairão.3 Ainda que um exército se acampe contra mim, meu coração não temerá; ainda que se declare guerra contra mim, mesmo assim estarei confiante.4 Uma coisa pedi ao Senhor, é o que procuro: que eu possa viver na casa do Senhor todos os dias da minha vida, para contemplar a bondade do Senhor e buscar sua orientação no seu templo.5 Pois no dia da adversidade ele me guardará protegido em sua habitação; no seu tabernáculo me esconderá e me porá em segurança sobre um rochedo.6 Então triunfarei sobre os inimigos que me cercam. Em seu tabernáculo oferecerei sacrifícios com aclamações; cantarei e louvarei ao Senhor.7 Ouve a minha voz quando clamo, ó Senhor; tem misericórdia de mim e responde-me.8 A teu respeito diz o meu coração: "Busque a minha face! " A tua face, Senhor, buscarei.9 Não escondas de mim a tua face, não rejeites com ira o teu servo; tu tens sido o meu ajudador. Não me desampares nem me abandones, ó Deus, meu salvador!10 Ainda que me abandonem pai e mãe, o Senhor me acolherá.11 Ensina-me o teu caminho, Senhor; conduze-me por uma vereda segura por causa dos meus inimigos.12 Não me entregues ao capricho dos meus adversários, pois testemunhas falsas se levantam contra mim, respirando violência.13 Apesar disso, esta certeza eu tenho: viverei até ver a bondade do Senhor na terra.14 Espere no Senhor. Seja forte! Coragem! Espere no Senhor.
1 Jehovah is my light and my salvation. Whom shall I fear? Jehovah is the stronghold of my life. Who is there to be afraid of?2 Evildoers accosted me to tear me to pieces. My opponents and enemies stumbled and fell.3 Even though an army sets up camp against me, my heart will not be afraid. Even though a war breaks out against me, I will trust in Jehovah.4 I have asked one thing from Jehovah. This I will seek: to live in the house of Jehovah all the days of my life, to look at Jehovahs beauty and search for an answer in his temple.5 He hides me in his shelter when there is trouble. He keeps me hidden in his tent. He puts me high on a rock.6 Now my head will be lifted up above my enemies who surround me. I will offer sacrifices with shouts of joy in his tent. I will sing, yes I will sing praises to Jehovah.7 Hear O Jehovah when I cry with my voice. Be gracious to me and answer me.8 You said: »Seek my face look for memy presence.« My heart said to you, »O Jehovah, I will look for you.«9 Do not hide your face from me. Do not angrily turn me away. You have been my help. Do not leave me! Do not abandon me, O God of my salvation!10 Even if my father and mother abandon forsake me, Jehovah will take care of me.11 Teach me your way, O Jehovah. Lead me on a level path because of my enemies.12 Do not surrender me to the will of my opponents. False witnesses have risen against me. They breathe out violence.13 I believe that I will see the goodness of Jehovah in this world of the living.14 Hope waitexpecttrust in Jehovah and be strong. Let your heart be courageous. Yes, hope in Jehovah.
