1 Coloquei toda minha esperança no Senhor; ele se inclinou para mim e ouviu o meu grito de socorro.2 Ele me tirou de um poço de destruição, de um atoleiro de lama; pôs os meus pés sobre uma rocha e firmou-me num local seguro.3 Pôs um novo cântico na minha boca, um hino de louvor ao nosso Deus. Muitos verão isso e temerão, e confiarão no Senhor.4 Como é feliz o homem que põe no Senhor a sua confiança, e não vai atrás dos orgulhosos, dos que se afastam para seguir deuses falsos!5 Senhor meu Deus! Quantas maravilhas tens feito! Não se pode relatar os planos que preparaste para nós! Eu queria proclamá-los e anunciá-los, mas são por demais numerosos!6 Sacrifício e oferta não pediste, mas abriste os meus ouvidos; holocaustos e ofertas pelo pecado, não exigiste.7 Então eu disse: Aqui estou! No livro está escrito a meu respeito.8 Tenho grande alegria em fazer a tua vontade, ó meu Deus; a tua lei está no fundo do meu coração.9 Eu proclamo as novas de justiça na grande assembléia; como sabes, Senhor, não fecho os meus lábios.10 Não oculto no coração a tua justiça; falo da tua fidelidade e da tua salvação. Não escondo da grande assembléia a tua fidelidade e a tua verdade.11 Não me negues a tua misericórdia, Senhor; que o teu amor e a tua verdade sempre me protejam.12 Pois incontáveis problemas me cercam e as minhas culpas me alcançaram, e já não consigo ver. Mais numerosos são que os cabelos da minha cabeça, e o meu coração perdeu o ânimo.13 Agrada-te, Senhor, em libertar-me; Apressa-te, Senhor, a ajudar-me.14 Sejam humilhados e frustrados todos os que procuram tirar-me a vida; retrocedam desprezados os que desejam a minha ruína.15 Fiquem chocados com a sua própria desgraça os que zombam de mim.16 Mas regozijem-se e alegrem-se em ti todos os que te buscam; digam sempre aqueles que amam a tua salvação: "Grande é o Senhor! "17 Quanto a mim, sou pobre e necessitado, mas o Senhor preocupa-se comigo. Tu és o meu socorro e o meu libertador; meu Deus, não te demores!

1 I waited patiently for Jehovah and he bent down to me and heard my cry.2 He brought me up out of the pit of destruction, out of the mud and clay. He set my feet upon a rock and made me stand erect.3 He put a new song in my mouth, a song of praise to our God. Many will see, respect and trust in Jehovah.4 Blessed is the man who has made Jehovah his security. He has not turned to the proud, or to those who turn aside into falsehood.5 O Jehovah my God, Many are the wonders that you have done and your thoughts toward us. None can compare with you. If I would declare and teach about them, they would be too numerous to report.6 You have not desired sacrifice and meal offering. You have opened my ears. Burnt offering and sin offering you have not required.7 Then I said: »Here I come! In the scroll of the book it is written about me. (Luke 3:21)8 »I am pleased to do your will, O my God; Your Law is within my heart.9 »I announced the good news of righteousness in the great congregation. I will not close my lips. You know that, O Jehovah.10 »I have not hidden your righteousness deep in my heart. I have been outspoken about your faithfulness and your salvation. I have not hidden your mercy and your truth from the great congregation.«11 Do not withhold your compassion from me, O Jehovah. May your mercy and your truth always protect me.12 Countless evils have surrounded me. My sins have caught up with me so that I can no longer see. They outnumber the hairs on my head. I have lost heart lost strength, courage and motivation.13 O Jehovah, please rescue me! Come quickly to help me, O Jehovah!14 Let all those who seek to end my life be confused and put to shame. Let those who want my downfall be turned back and disgraced.15 Let those who say to me: Aha! Aha! Be stunned by their shame.16 Let all who seek you rejoice and be glad in you. Let those who love your salvation continually say: Jehovah is greatly magnified!17 I am oppressed and needy. May Jehovah think of me. You are my help and my salvation. O my God, do not delay!
