1 Ó Deus, não te emudeças; não fiques em silêncio nem te detenhas, ó Deus.2 Vê como se agitam os teus inimigos, como os teus adversários te desafiam de cabeça erguida.3 Com astúcia conspiram contra o teu povo; tramam contra aqueles que são o teu tesouro.4 Eles dizem: "Venham, vamos destruí-los como nação, para que o nome de Israel não seja mais lembrado! "5 Com um só propósito tramam juntos; é contra ti que fazem acordo6 as tendas de Edom e os ismaelitas, Moabe e os hagarenos,7 Gebal, Amom e Amaleque, a Filístia, com os habitantes de Tiro.8 Até a Assíria a eles se aliou, e trouxe força aos descendentes de Ló. Pausa9 Trata-os como trataste Midiã, como trataste Sísera e Jabim no rio Quisom,10 os quais morreram em En-Dor e se tornaram esterco para a terra.11 Faze com os seus nobres o que fizeste com Orebe e Zeebe, e com todos os seus príncipes o que fizeste com Zeba e Zalmuna,12 que disseram: "Vamos apossar-nos das pastagens de Deus".13 Faze-os como folhas secas levadas no redemoinho, ó meu Deus, como palha ao vento.14 Assim como o fogo consome a floresta e as chamas incendeiam os montes,15 persegue-os com o teu vendaval e aterroriza-os com a tua tempestade.16 Cobre-lhes de vergonha o rosto até que busquem o teu nome, Senhor.17 Sejam eles humilhados e aterrorizados para sempre; pereçam em completa desgraça.18 Saibam eles que tu, cujo nome é Senhor, somente tu, és o Altíssimo sobre toda a terra.

1 O God, do not keep silent. Do not keep silent and do not be still, O God.2 For, behold, your enemies are stirred up. Those who hate you have lifted up their heads.3 They conspire with cunning against your people. They have helped the children of Lot.9 Do to them as you did to Midian, as you did to Sisera, as to Jabin, at the river Kishon10 Who perished at Endor and became as dung for the earth.11 Make their nobles like Oreb and Zeeb; yes, all their princes like Zebah and Zalmunna.12 For they said: »Let us take possession Of God's pasturelands.«13 My God, make them like tumbleweed, like chaff before the wind.14 Like the fire that consumes the forest, the flame that sets the mountains on fire,15 pursue them with your tempest and terrify them with your storm.16 Fill their faces with confusion that they may seek your name, Jehovah.17 Let them be disappointed and dismayed forever. Yes, let them be confounded and perish,18 That they may know that you alone, whose name is Jehovah, are the Most High over all the earth.
