1 Damos-te graças, ó Deus, damos graças, pois perto está o teu nome; todos falam dos teus feitos maravilhosos.2 Tu dizes: "Eu determino o tempo em que julgarei com justiça.3 Quando treme a terra com todos os seus habitantes, sou eu que mantenho firmes as suas colunas. Pausa4 Aos arrogantes digo: ‘Parem de vangloriar-se! ’ E aos ímpios: ‘Não se rebelem!5 Não se rebelem contra os céus; não falem com insolência’ ".6 Não é do Oriente nem do Ocidente nem do deserto que vem a exaltação.7 É Deus quem julga: Humilha a um, a outro exalta.8 Na mão do Senhor está um cálice cheio de vinho espumante e misturado; ele o derrama, e todos os ímpios da terra o bebem até a última gota.9 Quanto a mim, para sempre anunciarei essas coisas; cantarei louvores ao Deus de Jacó.10 Destruirei o poder de todos os ímpios, mas o poder dos justos aumentará.

1 We give thanks to you, O God, we give thanks, for your name is near and men declare your wondrous works.2 When I select an appointed time, it is I who judge in righteousness.3 The earth and all who dwell in it dissolve meltbecome faint hearted. I have firmly set its pillars.4 I said to the boastful: »Do not boast!« I said to the wicked: »Do not lift up the horn brag about your power!«5 Do not lift up your horn on high. Do not speak with insolent pride.6 There is no exaltation from the east, or from the west, or from the desert.7 God is the Judge; He brings down one and exalts another.8 Jehovah holds a cup in his hand. The wine foams and is well mixed. So he pours from it. Surely all the wicked of the earth must drain and drink down its dregs.9 But as for me, I will declare forever and I will sing praises to the God of Jacob.10 He will remove the horn power of the wicked. The horn power of the righteous will be exalted.
