1 Responde-me quando clamo, ó Deus que me faz justiça! Dá-me alívio da minha angústia; Tem misericórdia de mim e ouve a minha oração.2 Até quando vocês, ó poderosos, ultrajarão a minha honra? Até quando estarão amando ilusões e buscando mentiras? Pausa3 Saibam que o Senhor escolheu o piedoso; o Senhor ouvirá quando eu o invocar.4 Quando vocês ficarem irados, não pequem; ao deitar-se reflitam nisso, e aquietem-se. Pausa5 Ofereçam sacrifícios como Deus exige e confiem no Senhor.6 Muitos perguntam: "Quem nos fará desfrutar o bem? " Faze, ó Senhor, resplandecer sobre nós a luz do teu rosto!7 Encheste o meu coração de alegria, alegria maior do que a daqueles que têm fartura de trigo e de vinho.8 Em paz me deito e logo adormeço, pois só tu, Senhor, me fazes viver em segurança.

1 Answer me when I call, O God of my righteousness! You have relieved me in my trouble. Have mercy on me and hear my prayer.2 O sons of men, how long will my glorious honor be turned into shame? How long will you love empty, worthless things and search for the lie?3 But know that Jehovah has chosen and distinguished the godly man for himself. Jehovah will hear when I call to him.4 Tremble, stand in awe and do not sin! Meditate in your heart upon your bed, and keep silent.5 Offer the sacrifices of righteousness and trust in Jehovah.6 Many are saying: »Who will show us good?« Lift up the light of your countenance facepresence upon us, O Jehovah!7 You will put gladness joy in my heart. It will be more than when their grain and new wine abound.8 In peace I will both lie down and sleep. For you alone, O Jehovah, make my dwelling safe and secure.
