1 Tem misericórdia de mim, ó Deus, por teu amor; por tua grande compaixão apaga as minhas transgressões.2 Lava-me de toda a minha culpa e purifica-me do meu pecado.3 Pois eu mesmo reconheço as minhas transgressões, e o meu pecado sempre me persegue.4 Contra ti, só contra ti, pequei e fiz o que tu reprovas, de modo que justa é a tua sentença e tens razão em condenar-me.5 Sei que sou pecador desde que nasci, sim, desde que me concebeu minha mãe.6 Sei que desejas a verdade no íntimo; e no coração me ensinas a sabedoria.7 Purifica-me com hissopo, e ficarei puro; lava-me, e mais branco do que a neve serei.8 Faze-me ouvir de novo júbilo e alegria; e os ossos que esmagaste exultarão.9 Esconde o rosto dos meus pecados e apaga todas as minhas iniqüidades.10 Cria em mim um coração puro, ó Deus, e renova dentro de mim um espírito estável.11 Não me expulses da tua presença, nem tires de mim o teu Santo Espírito.12 Devolve-me a alegria da tua salvação e sustenta-me com um espírito pronto a obedecer.13 Então ensinarei os teus caminhos aos transgressores, para que os pecadores se voltem para ti.14 Livra-me da culpa dos crimes de sangue, ó Deus, Deus da minha salvação! E a minha língua aclamará à tua justiça.15 Ó Senhor, dá palavras aos meus lábios, e a minha boca anunciará o teu louvor.16 Não te deleitas em sacrifícios nem te agradas em holocaustos, se não eu os traria.17 Os sacrifícios que agradam a Deus são um espírito quebrantado; um coração quebrantado e contrito, ó Deus, não desprezarás.18 Por tua boa vontade faze Sião prosperar; ergue os muros de Jerusalém.19 Então te agradarás dos sacrifícios sinceros, das ofertas queimadas e dos holocaustos; e novilhos serão oferecidos sobre o teu altar.

1 Have mercy on me, O God, in keeping with your loving-kindness. According to your unlimited compassion, wipe out my transgressions.2 Wash me thoroughly from my perversity iniquityguilt, and cleanse me from my sin.3 I admit my transgressions. My sin is always in front of me.4 I have sinned against you, especially you. I have done what you consider evil in your sight. So you hand down justice when you speak, and you are blameless when you judge.5 Indeed, I was born in perversity mischiefevil. I was a sinner when my mother conceived me.6 Yet, you desire truth from the secret person within me. Deep down inside me teach me wisdom.7 Purify me from sin with hyssop, and I will be clean. Wash me, and I will be whiter than snow.8 Make me hear sounds of joy and gladness. Let the bones that you have broken rejoice.9 Hide your face turn away from my sins, and wipe out erase all that I have done wrong.10 Create in me a clean heart, O God, and renew a steadfast dependable spirit within me.11 Do not force me away from your presence, and do not take your Holy Spirit from me.12 Restore the joy of your salvation to me, and establish a willing spirit in me.13 I will teach your ways to transgressors, and sinners will turn to you.14 Rescue deliver me from the bloodguilt of murder O God of my salvation. Let my tongue sing joyfully about your righteousness!15 O Jehovah, open my lips help me speak, and my mouth will speak your praise.16 You do not desire sacrifice. Otherwise, I would offer one to you. You are not pleased with burnt offerings.17 The sacrifice pleasing to God is a broken spirit. O God, you do not despise a broken and sorrowful contrite heart.18 Favor Zion with your goodness. Build the walls of Jerusalem.19 Then you will be pleased with the sacrifices of righteousness offered in the right spirit (Heb 13:15) with burnt offerings and whole burnt offerings. Young bulls will be offered on your altar.
