1 Vindicate me, God, and plead my cause against an ungodly nation.

Oh, deliver me from deceitful and wicked men.

2 For you are the God of my strength. Why have you rejected me?

Why do I go mourning because of the oppression of the enemy?

3 Oh, send out your light and your truth.

Let them lead me.

Let them bring me to your holy hill,

to your tents.

4 Then I will go to the altar of God,

to God, my exceeding joy.

I will praise you on the harp, God, my God.

5 Why are you in despair, my soul?

Why are you disturbed within me?

Hope in God!

For I shall still praise him:

my Savior, my helper, and my God.

1 Schaffe mir Recht, o Gott, und führe meine Sache wider ein liebloses Volk, errette mich von dem falschen und bösen Mann!

2 Denn du bist der Gott, der mich schützt; warum verwirfst du mich? Warum muß ich traurig einhergehen, da mein Feind mich drängt?

3 Sende dein Licht und deine Wahrheit, daß sie mich leiten, mich bringen zu deinem heiligen Berg und zu deinen Wohnungen,

4 daß ich hineingehe zum Altare Gottes, zu dem Gott, der meine Freude und Wonne ist, und dich preise auf der Harfe, o Gott, mein Gott!

5 Was betrübst du dich, meine Seele, und bist so unruhig in mir? Harre auf Gott! Denn ich werde ihm noch danken, daß er meines Angesichts Heil und mein Gott ist.
