He is a great King over all the earth.

3 He subdues nations under us,

and peoples under our feet.

4 He chooses our inheritance for us,

5 God has gone up with a shout,

Yahweh with the sound of a trumpet.

6 Sing praises to God! Sing praises!

Sing praises to our King! Sing praises!

7 For God is the King of all the earth.

Sing praises with understanding.

8 God reigns over the nations.

God sits on his holy throne.

9 The princes of the peoples are gathered together,

the people of the God of Abraham.

For the shields of the earth belong to God.

3 Denn der HERR, der Höchste, ist zu fürchten, ein großer König über die ganze Erde.

4 Er wird die Völker unter uns zwingen und die Nationen unter unsre Füße.

5 Er wird uns unser Erbteil erwählen, den Stolz Jakobs, den er geliebt. (Pause.)

6 Gott ist aufgefahren mit Jauchzen, der HERR mit dem Schall der Posaune.

7 Lobsinget, lobsinget Gott! Lobsinget, lobsinget unserm König!

8 Denn Gott ist König der ganzen Erde; lobsinget andächtig!

9 Gott herrscht über die Völker, Gott sitzt auf seinem heiligen Thron.

10 Die Edlen der Völker haben sich versammelt zum Volk des Gottes Abrahams; denn Gott gehören die Schilde der Erde; er ist sehr erhaben.
