1 Mas agora o Senhor que te criou, que te formou, ó Israel, diz-te: Não tenhas medo porque te resgatei; chamei-te pelo teu nome. És meu.
2 Quando passares pelas águas profundas de grandes tribulações, estarei contigo. Quando tiveres de atravessar rios de pesadas dificuldades, não te afundarás! Quando passares pelas labaredas da opressão, não ficarás queimado - será fogo que não te consumirá.
3 Porque eu sou o Senhor teu Deus, o teu salvador, o santo de Israel. Dei o Egipto, a Etiópia e Seba em troca da tua liberdade, como resgate.
4 Outros houve que morreram para que pudesses viver; negociei as suas vidas em troca da tua; porque para mim és precioso; és a minha honra e eu te amo.
5 Não tenham receio, pois que estou convosco; juntar-vos-ei do Oriente e do Ocidente, do Norte e do Sul. Trarei os meus filhos e filhas de novo para Israel, desde os cantos mais distantes da terra.
7 Virão todos os que me invocam como seu Deus, que se chamam pelo meu nome, pois foram criados para a minha glória. Fui eu quem os formou.
8 Tragam-nos de volta para mim, cegos como são e surdos quando eu os chamo (embora tenham ouvidos e vista).
9 Reúnam todas as nações! Qual de todos os seus ídolos foi capaz de anunciar previamente todas estas coisas? Qual deles pôde predizer um só dia que fosse, com antecipação? Quem pode servir de testemunha de qualquer coisa que eles tenham dito? Então, se não houver testemunhas, terão de confessar que só Deus fala a verdade.
10 Mas quanto a mim, eu tenho testemunhas, ó Israel, diz o Senhor! São vocês as minhas testemunhas e os meus servos, escolhidos para me conhecerem e para crerem em mim, e para compreenderem que só eu sou Deus. Não há, nem houve, nem haverá outro Deus além de mim.
11 Eu sou o Senhor, e não há outro salvador. De todas as vezes que vocês decidiram lançar fora os ídolos, dei-vos a conhecer o meu poder. Com uma só palavra minha vos salvei; e vocês viram-no bem! Por isso são testemunhas em como é realmente verdade.
13 De eternidade em eternidade eu sou Deus. Ninguém há que possa impedir-me de fazer o que faço.
14 O Senhor, o vosso redentor, o santo de Israel, diz: Por vossa causa enviarei um exército invasor contra Babilónia, que terminará a sua acção militar praticamente sem perdas. E a altivez de Babilónia se tornará em gritos de medo.
15 Eu sou o Senhor, o vosso criador, o santo e o rei de Israel.
16 Eu sou o Senhor, capaz de abrir um caminho através das águas, mesmo no meio do mar.
17 Levei o poderoso exército do Egipto, com os seus carros de guerras, seus condutores e cavaleiros, para que morressem ali, sepultados para sempre sob a massa das águas; as suas vidas se apagaram como a simples chama duma vela.
18 Mas não faz mal que venham a esquecer isso tudo, essas coisas da vossa história passada, pois que nada são em comparação com aquilo que irei realizar! Será algo inteiramente novo. Olhem, até já comecei! Não estão a ver? Farei um caminho através do deserto deste mundo, para que o meu povo regresse à sua pátria; farei aparecer rios para eles nesse deserto! Os animais selvagens, chacais e avestruzes, agradecer-me-ão por lhes ter dado água no meio daquela aridez; sim, por ter feito brotar fontes ali, a fim de que o meu povo, aqueles que escolhi, possam refrescar-se.
21 Formei Israel para mim, e este povo ainda um dia me honrará perante todo o mundo.
22 Contudo, ó meu povo, vocês não me invocaram, não pediram o meu auxílio; até se cansaram de mim!
23 Não me trouxeram cordeiros para as ofertas queimadas, não quiseram honrar-me com sacrifícios, apesar de ser bem pouco aquilo que eu reclamava como ofertas e como incenso!
24 Não me trouxeram incenso aromático, nem quiseram agradar-me com a gordura dos sacrifícios. A única coisa que decidiram oferecer-me foram pecados; até me cansaram com o praticarem maldades.
25 Mas o certo é que eu sou o único que pode anular os vossos pecados, e faço isso por consideração para com a minha própria justiça; nunca mais os levarei em conta.
26 Seria bem preferível que fossem vocês a procurar lembrar-me as minhas promessas de perdão; porque temos que falar acerca dos vossos pecados. Apresentem pois as vossas razões e pedidos de clemência, para que possa perdoar-vos.
27 O teu primeiro antepassado pecou; todos os vossos representantes transgrediram a minha lei.
28 E foi por essa mesma razão que expulsei os vossos sacerdotes, destruí Israel e o cobri de vergonha.

2 When thou passest through the waters, with thee, I am, Or, through the rivers, they shall not overflow thee,When thou walkest through fire, thou shall not be scorched, And, a flame, shall not kindle upon thee;
3 For, I,Yahweh, am, Thy God, The Holy One of Israel Ready to save thee,I have given, as thy ransom, Egypt, Ethiopia and Seba, in thy stead.
4 Because thou art precious in mine eyes, art honoured And, I, love thee,And will give mankind, in thy stead, Yea, peoples, for thy life,
5 Do not fear for, with thee, I am,From the East, will I bring in thy seed, And, from the West, will I gather thee:
6 I will say to the North Give up! And to the South Do not withhold! Bring in My sons from far, and My daughters from the end of the earth;
7 Every one who is called by my Name, Whom for mine own glory, I have createdformedyea, made!
8 Bring forth A blind people that have, eyes, and A deaf, that have, ears.
9 All the nations, are gathered together Yea there is an assembling of peoples, Who among them, can tell this, And things in advance, can let us hear? Let them set forth their witnesses that they may get their right, Or let them hear, and say Truth!
10 Ye, are my witnesses Declareth Yahweh, And my Servant, whom I have chosen,That ye may take noteand believe me, And perceive that, I, am He, Before me, was not formed a GOD, Nor after me, shall one come into being:
11 II, am Yahweh,And there is none besides me ready to save:
12 I, have toldand will save, and make known, That there is among you no strange one; And, ye, are my witnesses, Declareth Yahweh That, I, am GOD.
13 Even from To-day, I, am He, And none, out of my hand, can deliver,I work and who reverseth?
14 Thus saith Yahweh, Your Redeemer, The Holy One of Israel,For your sakes, have I sent into Babylon, And will bring down as fugitives, all of them,Even the Chaldeans, in the ships which cause them loud outcry.
15 IYahweh, am Your Holy One,The Creator of Israel, Your King.
16 Thus, saith Yahweh,Who setteth in the sea, a way,And in the mighty waters, a path;
17 Who bringeth forth Chariot and horse, Force and strength, Together, shall they he down They shall not arise, They are extinguished Like a wick, are they quenched!
18 Do not keep in mind former things,And things of old, do not consider:
19 Behold me! doing a new thing, Now, shall it spring forth, Will ye not take note thereof? Surely I will set In the desert, a way, In a desolate land, rivers:
20 The wild beast of the field shall honour me, Jackals, and ostriches, Because I have givenIn the desert, waters, Rivers in, desolate land, To give drink unto my people, my chosen:
21 A people which I have fashioned for myself, My praise, shall they record.
22 Yet not upon me, hast thou called, O Jacob,For thou hast been wearied of me O Israel:
23 Thou hast not brought in to me small cattle as thine ascending-offerings, Nor, with thy sacrifices, hast thou honoured me,I have not oppressed thee with meal-offerings, Nor have I wearied thee with frankincense;
24 Thou hast not bought for me with silver, fragrant calamus, Nor with the fat of thy sacrifices, hast thou sated me,Thou hast done nothing but oppress me with thy sins, Thou hast wearied me with thine iniquities.
25 II, am he that is ready, To wipe out thy transgressions for mine own sake,And, thy sins, not remember.
26 Put me in mind, Let us enter into judgment at once,Recount, thou, that thou mayest be justified:
27 Thy chief father, hath sinned, And thine interpreters, have transgressed against me;
28 So then I must needs profane the rulers of the holy place,And deliver Jacob to be devoted to destruction, and Israel, unto reviling!
