1 Por que se amotinam as nações, E os povos tramam em vão?2 Insurgem-se os reis da terra, E os príncipes conspiram Contra Jeová e contra o seu ungido, dizendo:3 Rompamos as suas ataduras, E lancemos de nós as suas cordas.4 Aquele que está sentado nos céus, se rirá; O Senhor zombará deles.5 Então lhes falará na sua ira, E no seu furor os confundirá.6 Eu, porém, tenho estabelecido o meu rei Em Sião, meu santo monte.7 Falarei acerca do decreto: Jeová disse-me: Tu és meu filho; Eu hoje te gerei.8 Pede-me, que te darei as nações por tua herança, E as extremidades da terra por tua possessão.9 Tu as quebrarás com uma vara de ferro, Fá-las-ás em pedaços como vaso de oleiro.10 Agora, pois, ó reis, fazei-vos prudentes; Deixai-vos instruir, juízes da terra.11 Servi a Jeová com temor, E regozijai-vos com tremor.12 Beijai ao filho, para que não se ire, E pereçais no caminho, Porque em breve se acenderá a sua ira, Felizes são todos os que nele se refugiam.

1 Why do the nations conspire together and rage? Why do the peoples plot in vain?2 The kings of the earth take their stand and the rulers gather together against Jehovah and against his Anointed One.3 They say: »Let us break their chains of control and throw off their oppressive rule.«4 The One who dwells in heaven laughs. Jehovah scoffs at them.5 Then he rebukes them in his anger and terrifies them in his rage fury. He says:6 »I have installed anointedestablished my king on Zion, my holy mountain.«7 I will proclaim the decree of Jehovah: He said to me: »You are my Son. Today I have become your Father. I have begotten you.8 »Ask of me, and I will make the nations your inheritance, the ends of the earth your possession.9 »You will rule them with an iron scepter. You will dash them to pieces like pottery!«10 Listen you kings, be wise show discernment and be warned you rulers of the earth.11 Serve Jehovah with deep respect and rejoice with trembling.12 Kiss the Son, lest he be angry and you be destroyed in your way, for his wrath can flare up in a moment. Blessed happy are all who take refuge put trust in him.
