1 Lembra-te, Jeová, a bem de Davi De tudo quanto ele sofreu,2 Como jurou a Jeová, E fez voto ao poderoso de Jacó:3 Não entrarei na tenda da minha casa, Nem subirei ao leito da minha cama;4 Não darei sono aos meus olhos, Nem adormecimento às minhas pálpebras,5 Até que eu ache um lugar para Jeová, Um tabernáculo para o Poderoso de Jacó.6 Eis que ouvimos falar da arca em Efrata; Encontramo-la no campo de Jaar.7 Entremos no lugar em que ele habita, Adoremos ante o escabelo dos seus pés.8 Levanta-te, Jeová, entra no lugar do teu repouso, Tu, e a arca da tua fortaleza.9 Vistam-se os teus sacerdotes de justiça, E exultem de júbilo os teus santos.10 Por amor do teu servo Davi Não repilas o rosto do teu ungido.11 A Davi jurou Jeová a verdade, Da qual não se apartará: Do fruto do teu corpo porei sobre o teu trono.12 Se teus filhos guardarem a minha aliança E o testemunho que eu lhes ensinar, Também seus filhos se assentarão sobre o teu trono para sempre.13 Pois Jeová escolheu a Sião, Para morada sua a desejou.14 Este é o lugar do meu repouso para sempre: Aqui habitarei, porque o tenho desejado.15 Certamente abençoarei o seu mantimento; Fartarei de pão os seus pobres.16 Vestirei também os seus sacerdotes de salvação; E de júbilo exultarão os seus santos.17 Ali farei brotar a força de Davi, Preparei uma lâmpada para o meu ungido.18 De vergonha vestirei os seus inimigos, Mas sobre ele florescerá a sua coroa.

1 Jehovah, remember David and all his affliction.2 Remember how he swore an oath to Jehovah and made this vow to the Mighty One of Jacob.3 He said: »I will not step inside my house,4 get into my bed, shut my eyes, or close my eyelids5 until I find a place for Jehovah, a dwelling place for the Mighty One of Jacob.«6 Now, we have heard about the Ark of the Covenant being in Ephrathah. We found it in Jaar.7 Let us go to his dwelling place. Let us worship at his footstool.8 O Jehovah, arise, and come to your resting place with the ark of your power.9 Clothe your priests with righteousness. Let your godly ones sing with joy.10 For the sake of your servant David do not reject your anointed one.11 Jehovah swore an oath to David: »This is a truth he will not take back: I will set one of your own descendants on your throne.12 »If your sons are faithful to my covenant and my written instructions that I will teach them, then their descendants will also sit on your throne forever.«13 Jehovah has chosen Zion. He wants it for his home.14 This will be my resting place forever. Here I will sit enthroned because I want Zion.15 I will greatly bless all that Zion needs. I will satisfy its needy people with food.16 I will clothe its priests with salvation. Then its godly ones will sing joyfully.17 There I will make the horn of David grow give mighty power to David. I will prepare a lamp light for my anointed one.18 I will clothe his enemies with shame, but the crown on my anointed one will shine.
