1 Ao mestre de canto. Salmo de Davi. Narram os céus a glória de Deus, e o firmamento anuncia a obra de suas mãos.2 O dia ao outro transmite essa mensagem, e uma noite à outra a repete.3 Não é uma língua nem são palavras, cujo sentido não se perceba,4 porque por toda a terra se espalha o seu ruído, e até os confins do mundo a sua voz; aí armou Deus para o sol uma tenda.5 E este, qual esposo que sai do seu tálamo, exulta, como um gigante, a percorrer seu caminho.6 Sai de um extremo do céu, e no outro termina o seu curso; nada se furta ao seu calor.7 A lei do Senhor é perfeita, reconforta a alma; a ordem do Senhor é segura, instrui o simples.8 Os preceitos do Senhor são retos, deleitam o coração; o mandamento do Senhor é luminoso, esclarece os olhos.9 O temor do Senhor é puro, subsiste eternamente; os juízos do Senhor são verdadeiros, todos igualmente justos.10 Mais desejáveis que o ouro, que uma barra de ouro fino; mais doces que o mel, que o puro mel dos favos.11 Ainda que vosso servo neles atente, guardando-os com todo o cuidado;12 quem pode, entretanto, ver as próprias faltas? Purificai-me das que me são ocultas.13 Preservai, também, vosso servo do orgulho; não domine ele sobre mim, então serei íntegro e limpo de falta grave.14 Aceitai as palavras de meus lábios e os pensamentos de meu coração, na vossa presença, Senhor, minha rocha e meu redentor.

1 To the chief musician, a psalm of David.(19:2) The heavens relate the glory of God; and the expanse telleth of the works of his hands.2 (19:3) Day unto day uttereth speech, and night unto night showeth knowledge.3 (19:4) There is no speech, there are no words, their voice is not heard.4 (19:5)But their melody extendeth through all the earth, and to the end of the world their words. For the sun hath he set a tabernacle among them;5 (19:6) And he goeth out as a bridegroom from his chamber, he is glad like a strong man to run his course;6 (19:7) From the end of the heavens is his going forth, and his circuit is unto their ends: and there is nothing hidden from his heat.7 (19:8) The law of the Lord is perfect, quieting the soul: the testimony of the Lord is sure, making wise the simple.8 (19:9) The precepts of the Lord are upright, rejoicing the heart; the commandment of the Lord is clear, enlightening the eyes.9 (19:10) The fear of the Lord is pure, enduring for ever: the ordinances of the Lord are the truth, they are just altogether.10 (19:11) They are those which are to be desired more than gold, and much fine gold; and they are sweeter than honey and the dropping of honeycomb.11 (19:12) Moreover thy servant is admonished by them: in keeping them there is great reward.12 (19:13) Who can guard against errors? from secret faults do thou cleanse me.13 (19:14) Also from presumptuous sins withhold thy servant; let them not have dominion over me: then shall I be blameless, and I shall be clear from any great transgression.14 (19:15) May the words of my mouth, and the meditation of my heart, be acceptable before thee, O Lord, my Rock, and my Redeemer.
