1 Salmo de Davi. Cantarei a bondade e a justiça. A vós, Senhor, salmodiarei.2 Pelo caminho reto quero seguir. Oh, quando vireis a mim? Caminharei na inocência de coração, no seio de minha família.3 Não proporei ante meus olhos nenhum pensamento culpável. Terei horror àquele que pratica o mal, não será ele meu amigo.4 Estará sempre longe de mim o coração perverso, não quero conhecer o mal.5 Exterminarei o que em segredo caluniar seu próximo. Não suportarei homem arrogante e de coração vaidoso.6 Meus olhos se voltarão para os fiéis da terra, para fazê-los habitar comigo. Será meu servo o homem que segue o caminho reto.7 O fraudulento não há de morar jamais em minha casa. Não subsistirá o mentiroso ante meus olhos.8 Todos os dias extirparei da terra os ímpios, banindo da cidade do Senhor os que praticam o mal.
1 By David, a psalm. Of kindness and justice will I sing: unto thee, O Lord, will I sing praises.2 I will carefully regard the way of the perfect: oh when will thou come unto me? I will walk in the integrity of my heart in the midst of my house.3 I will not set before my eyes a godless thing; to commit a departure from righteousness do I hate; it shall not cleave to me.4 A perverse heart shall depart from me: evil will I not know.5 Whoso slandereth in secret his neighbor, him will I destroy: whoso hath proud eyes and a haughty heart, him will I not suffer.6 My eyes shall be upon the faithful of the land, that they may abide with me: he that walketh in the way of the perfect, he it is that shall serve me.7 He that practiseth deceit shall not dwell within my house: he that speaketh falsehoods shall not succeed before my eyes.8 Every morning will I destroy all the wicked of the land, cutting off from the city of the Lord all the wrongdoers.
