Salmos 107

1 Give thanks to Yahweh,*107:1 "Yahweh" is God’s proper Name, sometimes rendered "LORD" (all caps) in other translations. for he is good,

for his loving kindness endures forever.

2 Let the redeemed by Yahweh say so,

whom he has redeemed from the hand of the adversary,

3 and gathered out of the lands,

from the east and from the west,

from the north and from the south.

4 They wandered in the wilderness in a desert way.

They found no city to live in.

5 Hungry and thirsty,

their soul fainted in them.

6 Then they cried to Yahweh in their trouble,

and he delivered them out of their distresses.

7 He led them also by a straight way,

that they might go to a city to live in.

8 Let them praise Yahweh for his loving kindness,

for his wonderful deeds to the children of men!

9 For he satisfies the longing soul.

He fills the hungry soul with good.

10 Some sat in darkness and in the shadow of death,

being bound in affliction and iron,

11 because they rebelled against the words of God,*107:11 The Hebrew word rendered "God" is "אֱלֹהִ֑ים" (Elohim).

and condemned the counsel of the Most High.

12 Therefore he brought down their heart with labor.

They fell down, and there was no one to help.

13 Then they cried to Yahweh in their trouble,

and he saved them out of their distresses.

14 He brought them out of darkness and the shadow of death,

and broke away their chains.

15 Let them praise Yahweh for his loving kindness,

for his wonderful deeds to the children of men!

16 For he has broken the gates of bronze,

and cut through bars of iron.

17 Fools are afflicted because of their disobedience,

and because of their iniquities.

18 Their soul abhors all kinds of food.

They draw near to the gates of death.

19 Then they cry to Yahweh in their trouble,

and he saves them out of their distresses.

20 He sends his word, and heals them,

and delivers them from their graves.

21 Let them praise Yahweh for his loving kindness,

for his wonderful deeds to the children of men!

22 Let them offer the sacrifices of thanksgiving,

and declare his deeds with singing.

23 Those who go down to the sea in ships,

who do business in great waters,

24 these see Yahweh’s deeds,

and his wonders in the deep.

25 For he commands, and raises the stormy wind,

which lifts up its waves.

26 They mount up to the sky; they go down again to the depths.

Their soul melts away because of trouble.

27 They reel back and forth, and stagger like a drunken man,

and are at their wits’ end.

28 Then they cry to Yahweh in their trouble,

and he brings them out of their distress.

29 He makes the storm a calm,

so that its waves are still.

30 Then they are glad because it is calm,

so he brings them to their desired haven.

31 Let them praise Yahweh for his loving kindness,

for his wonderful deeds for the children of men!

32 Let them exalt him also in the assembly of the people,

and praise him in the seat of the elders.

33 He turns rivers into a desert,

water springs into a thirsty ground,

34 and a fruitful land into a salt waste,

for the wickedness of those who dwell in it.

35 He turns a desert into a pool of water,

and a dry land into water springs.

36 There he makes the hungry live,

that they may prepare a city to live in,

37 sow fields, plant vineyards,

and reap the fruits of increase.

38 He blesses them also, so that they are multiplied greatly.

He doesn’t allow their livestock to decrease.

39 Again, they are diminished and bowed down

through oppression, trouble, and sorrow.

40 He pours contempt on princes,

and causes them to wander in a trackless waste.

41 Yet he lifts the needy out of their affliction,

and increases their families like a flock.

42 The upright will see it, and be glad.

All the wicked will shut their mouths.

43 Whoever is wise will pay attention to these things.

They will consider the loving kindnesses of Yahweh.

5 De var hungriga och törstiga,

deras själ mattades.

6 Men de ropade till Herren

i sin nöd,

och han räddade dem

ur deras svårigheter.

7 *Ps 68:7. Han ledde dem

på den rätta vägen

till en stad där

de kunde bo.

8 *1 Petr 2:9. De ska tacka Herren

för hans nåd

och hans under

mot människors barn,

9 för han mättar

den längtande själen

och fyller den hungrande själen

med sitt goda.

10 *Job 36:8, Jes 42:7, Luk 1:79. De satt i mörker och dödsskugga,

fångna i nöd och i bojor av järn,

11 *Ps 78:40, 106:7, Ords 1:25, Jer 9:12f. för de hade trotsat Guds ord

och föraktat den Högstes råd.

12 Han ödmjukade deras hjärtan

med lidande,

de föll och ingen hjälpare fanns.

13 Men de ropade till Herren

i sin nöd,

och han frälste dem

ur deras svårigheter.

14 *Ps 129:4f. Han förde dem ut ur mörker

och dödsskugga

och slet sönder deras bojor.

15 De ska tacka Herren

för hans nåd

och hans under

mot människors barn,

16 för han krossade portar

av koppar

och knäckte bommar av järn.

17 De blev dårar genom sitt uppror

och fick lida för sina synder,

18 *Job 33:20. de kände avsky för all mat

och närmade sig dödens portar.

19 Men de ropade till Herren

i sin nöd,

och han frälste dem

ur deras svårigheter.

20 Han sände sitt ord

och botade dem

och räddade dem

från undergång.

21 De ska tacka Herren

för hans nåd

och hans under

mot människors barn,

22 *Ps 50:14, 23, 116:17. de ska offra lovets offer

och förkunna hans verk

med jubel.

23 De for ut på havet med skepp

och drev handel på väldiga vatten,

24 de såg Herrens gärningar

och hans under i havets djup.

25 *Ps 135:6. Han talade och framkallade

en stormvind

så att havets vågor gick höga.

26 De for upp mot himlen

och ner i djupen,

deras själ var förtvivlad

i faran.

27 De vinglade och raglade

som druckna,

all deras vishet var borta.

28 Men de ropade till Herren

i sin nöd,

och han förde dem ut

ur deras svårigheter.

29 Han stillade stormen

och vågorna tystnade.

30 De gladdes över att det blev lugnt,

och han förde dem till hamnen

dit de ville.

31 De ska tacka Herren

för hans nåd

och hans under

mot människors barn,

32 de ska upphöja honom

i folkets församling

och prisa honom i de äldstes råd.

33 Han gjorde floder till öken,

källor till törstig mark

34 *5 Mos 29:23f, Jes 13:19, Jer 17:6. och bördigt land till saltjord

på grund av invånarnas ondska.

35 *Ps 105:41, 114:8, Jes 35:7, 41:18, Jer 31:23f. Han gjorde öknen

till vattenrik sjö

och torrt land till källor,

36 han lät de hungriga leva där

och bygga en stad

där de kunde bo.

37 *Jes 65:21f, Amos 9:14f. De sådde åkrar

och planterade vingårdar

som gav rik skörd.

38 *5 Mos 28:2f, 30:9. Han välsignade dem

och de blev många,

han lät inte deras boskap bli färre.

39 *5 Mos 28:62, Ps 38:7, 44:26. Sedan blev de färre

och tyngdes av förtryck,

olyckor och bekymmer.

40 *5 Mos 28:7, Job 12:21, 24. Han öste förakt över furstarna

och lät dem irra i väglös ödemark,

41 *5 Mos 30:5, Hes 36:37f. han upphöjde den fattige

ur eländet

och förökade familjerna

som hjordar.

42 *Job 5:16, 22:19, Ps 63:12, 126:2f, Mika 7:16, Sef 3:14. De ärliga ser det och gläds,

all ondska måste tiga.

43 *Jer 9:12, Hos 14:10. Den som är vis bör ta till sig detta

och tänka på Herrens

nådegärningar.
