Salmos 122

A Song of Ascents. By David.

1 I was glad when they said to me,

"Let’s go to Yahweh’s house!"

2 Our feet are standing within your gates, Jerusalem!

3 Jerusalem is built as a city that is compact together,

4 where the tribes go up, even Yah’s tribes,

according to an ordinance for Israel,

to give thanks to Yahweh’s name.

5 For there are set thrones for judgment,

the thrones of David’s house.

6 Pray for the peace of Jerusalem.

Those who love you will prosper.

7 Peace be within your walls,

and prosperity within your palaces.

8 For my brothers’ and companions’ sakes,

I will now say, "Peace be within you."

9 For the sake of the house of Yahweh our God,

I will seek your good.

Glädjen i att gå till Herrens hus

Jag gladdes när man sade till mig:

"Vi ska gå till Herrens hus."

2 Våra fötter står

i dina portar, Jerusalem.

3 *Ps 48:13f, 147:2. Jerusalem, du välbyggda stad

som tätt sluter sig samman!

4 *2 Mos 23:17, 5 Mos 16:16. Dit drar stammarna upp,

Herrens stammar,

som ett vittnesbörd för Israel

att prisa Herrens namn.

5 *5 Mos 17:8f, 2 Sam 8:15f, 123:1 Ps 3:5, 121:1, 141:8. Där står domarsäten,

troner för Davids hus.

6 Be om frid för Jerusalem!

Låt dem som älskar dig vara trygga.

7 Låt det råda frid inom dina murar,

trygghet i dina borgar.

8 För mina bröders och vänners skull

vill jag önska dig frid,

9 för Herren vår Guds hus skull

vill jag söka ditt bästa.
