1 Τότε εφτά γυναίκες θα πιάνουνε τον ίδιον άντρα και θα τον ικετεύουν: «Δεν θα σ’ επιβαρύνουμε ούτε με την τροφή μας ούτε με το ντύσιμό μας· δέξου μόνο να έχουμε το όνομά σου, για να απαλλαγούμε απ’ τη ντροπή».

2 Έρχεται μέρα που ό,τι κάνει ο Κύριος να βλαστήσει, θα είναι καμάρι και τιμή για όσους Ισραηλίτες θα ’χουν διασωθεί· και ο καρπός της γης θα ’ναι γι’ αυτούς καύχημα και δόξα. 3 Αυτοί που θα ’χουν επιζήσει στη Σιών, όλοι εκείνοι που θα κατοικούν ακόμα τότε στην Ιερουσαλήμ, «άγιοι» θα ονομαστούν, γιατί ο ίδιος ο Θεός τούς έχει εγγράψει να επιζήσουν. 4 Όταν ο Κύριος θα έχει ξεπλύνει τους κατοίκους της Σιών από κάθε βρωμιά και θα έχει εξαλείψει από την Ιερουσαλήμ τη βαριά ενοχή της με την αυστηρή κρίση του, 5 τότε θα κάνει να φανεί παντού πάνω από το όρος Σιών κι από εκείνους όλους που συνάζονται εκεί, ένα σύννεφο τη μέρα και καπνός από φλόγες φωτιάς τη νύχτα. Γιατί πάνω απ’ όλα θα υπάρχει η δόξα του Κυρίου για σκεπή. 6 Θα προστατεύει με τη σκιά της από τη ζέστη της μέρας και θα ’ναι καταφύγιο και στέγη σε ώρα θύελλας και βροχής.
