Psalms 47

To the chief Musician. Of the sons of Korah. A Psalm.

1 All ye peoples, clap your hands; shout unto God*GodHebrew: Elohim with the voice of triumph! 2 For Jehovah, the Most High, is terrible, a great king over all the earth. 3 He subdueth the peoples under us, and the nations under our feet. 4 He hath chosen our inheritance for us, the excellency of Jacob whom he loved. Selah.

5 God is gone up amid shouting, Jehovah amid the sound of the trumpet. 6 Sing psalms of God*GodHebrew: Elohim sing psalms; sing psalms unto our King, sing psalms! 7 For God*GodHebrew: Elohim is the King of all the earth; sing psalms with understanding. 8 God reigneth over the nations; God*GodHebrew: Elohim sitteth upon the throne of his holiness. 9 The willing-hearted of the peoples have gathered together, with the people of the God*GodHebrew: Elohim of Abraham. For unto God*GodHebrew: Elohimbelong the shields of the earth: he is greatly exalted.

2 Vous tous, peuples, battez des mains!

Poussez vers Dieu des cris de joie!

3 Car l’Éternel, le Très-Haut, est redoutable,

Il est un grand roi sur toute la terre.

4 Il nous assujettit des peuples,

Il met des nations sous nos pieds;

5 Il nous choisit notre héritage,

La gloire de Jacob qu’il aime. — Pause.

6 Dieu monte au milieu des cris de triomphe,

L’Éternel s’avance au son de la trompette.

7 Chantez à Dieu, chantez!

Chantez à notre roi, chantez!

8 Car Dieu est roi de toute la terre:

Chantez un cantique!

9 Dieu règne sur les nations,

Dieu a pour siège son saint trône.

10 Les princes des peuples se réunissent

Au peuple du Dieu d’Abraham;

Car à Dieu sont les boucliers de la terre:

Il est souverainement élevé.
