1 Not unto us, O Jehovah, not unto us, but unto thy name give glory, for thy loving-kindness and for thy truth's sake.

2 Wherefore should the nations say, Where then is their God?

3 But our God is in the heavens: he hath done whatsoever he pleased.

4 Their idols are silver and gold, the work of men's hands:

5 They have a mouth, and they speak not; eyes have they, and they see not;

6 They have ears, and they hear not; a nose have they, and they smell not;

7 They have hands, and they handle not; feet have they, and they walk not; they give no sound through their throat.

8 They that make them are like unto them, -every one that confideth in them.

9 O Israel, confide thou in Jehovah: he is their help and their shield.

10 House of Aaron, confide in Jehovah: he is their help and their shield.

11 Ye that fear Jehovah, confide in Jehovah: he is their help and their shield.

12 Jehovah hath been mindful of us: he will bless, he will bless the house of Israel; he will bless the house of Aaron;

13 He will bless them that fear Jehovah, both the small and the great.

14 Jehovah will add unto you more, unto you and unto your children.

15 Ye are blessed of Jehovah, who made the heavens and the earth.

16 The heavens are the heavens of Jehovah, but the earth hath he given to the children of men.

17 The dead praise not Jah, neither any that go down into silence;

18 But *we* will bless Jah from this time forth and for evermore. Hallelujah!

1 Non point à nous, ô Eternel! non point à nous, mais à ton Nom donne gloire pour l'amour de ta miséricorde, pour l'amour de ta vérité.

2 Pourquoi diraient les nations : où est maintenant leur Dieu?

3 Certes notre Dieu est aux cieux; il fait tout ce qu'il lui plaît.

4 Leurs dieux sont des [dieux] d'or et d'argent, un ouvrage des mains d'homme.

5 Ils ont une bouche, et ne parlent point; ils ont des yeux, et ne voient point;

6 Ils ont des oreilles, et n'entendent point; ils ont un nez, et ils n'[en] flairent point;

7 Des mains, et ils n'[en] touchent point; des pieds, et ils n'en marchent point; [et] ils ne rendent aucun son de leur gosier.

8 Que ceux qui les font, [et] tous ceux qui s'y confient, leur soient faits semblables.

9 Israël confie-toi en l'Eternel; il est le secours et le bouclier de ceux [qui se confient en lui].

10 Maison d'Aaron, confiez-vous en l'Eternel; il est leur aide et leur bouclier.

11 Vous qui craignez l'Eternel, confiez-vous en l'Eternel; il est leur aide et leur bouclier.

12 L'Eternel s'est souvenu de nous, il bénira, il bénira la maison d'Israël, il bénira la maison d'Aaron.

13 Il bénira ceux qui craignent l'Eternel, tant les petits que les grands.

14 L'Eternel ajoutera [bénédiction] sur vous, sur vous et sur vos enfants.

15 Vous êtes bénis de l'Eternel, qui a fait les cieux et la terre.

16 Quant aux Cieux, les Cieux sont à l'Eternel; mais il a donné la terre aux enfants des hommes.

17 Les morts, et tous ceux qui descendent où l'on ne dit plus mot, ne loueront point l'Eternel.

18 Mais nous, nous bénirons l'Eternel dès maintenant, et à toujours. Louez l'Eternel.
