1 God is known in Judah. His name is great in Israel.2 His tabernacle is in Salem Jerusalem. His dwelling place also is in Zion.3 There He broke the flaming arrows, the shield and the sword and the weapons of war.4 You are glorious, more majestic than the mountains of prey.5 The strong and valiant were plundered, they sank into sleep. None of the warriors could use his hands.6 At Your rebuke, O God of Jacob, both rider and horse were cast into a dead sleep.7 You, even you, are to be respected. Who may stand in your presence when once you are angry?8 You caused judgment to be heard from heaven. The earth feared and was still9 when God arose to judgment, to save all the humble of the earth.10 For the wrath of man shall praise you. You will fortify yourself with a remnant of wrath.11 Make vows to Jehovah your God and fulfill them. Let all who are around him bring gifts to him. He should be respected.12 He will cut off the spirit of princes. He is awesome to the kings of the earth.

1 Conhecido é Deus em Judá, grande é o seu nome em Israel.2 Em Salém está a sua tenda, e a sua morada em Sião.3 Ali quebrou ele as flechas do arco, o escudo, a espada, e a guerra.4 Glorioso és tu, mais majestoso do que os montes eternos.5 Os ousados de coração foram despojados; dormiram o seu último sono; nenhum dos homens de força pôde usar as mãos.6 À tua repreensão, ó Deus de Jacó, cavaleiros e cavalos ficaram estirados sem sentidos.7 Tu, sim, tu és tremendo; e quem subsistirá à tua vista, quando te irares?8 Desde o céu fizeste ouvir o teu juízo; a terra tremeu e se aquietou,9 quando Deus se levantou para julgar, para salvar a todos os mansos da terra.10 Na verdade a cólera do homem redundará em teu louvor, e do restante da cólera tu te cingirás.11 Fazei votos, e pagai-os ao Senhor, vosso Deus; tragam presentes, os que estão em redor dele, àquele que deve ser temido.12 Ele ceifará o espírito dos príncipes; é tremendo para com os reis da terra.
