1 Jehovah, remember David and all his affliction.2 Remember how he swore an oath to Jehovah and made this vow to the Mighty One of Jacob.3 He said: »I will not step inside my house,4 get into my bed, shut my eyes, or close my eyelids5 until I find a place for Jehovah, a dwelling place for the Mighty One of Jacob.«6 Now, we have heard about the Ark of the Covenant being in Ephrathah. We found it in Jaar.7 Let us go to his dwelling place. Let us worship at his footstool.8 O Jehovah, arise, and come to your resting place with the ark of your power.9 Clothe your priests with righteousness. Let your godly ones sing with joy.10 For the sake of your servant David do not reject your anointed one.11 Jehovah swore an oath to David: »This is a truth he will not take back: I will set one of your own descendants on your throne.12 »If your sons are faithful to my covenant and my written instructions that I will teach them, then their descendants will also sit on your throne forever.«13 Jehovah has chosen Zion. He wants it for his home.14 This will be my resting place forever. Here I will sit enthroned because I want Zion.15 I will greatly bless all that Zion needs. I will satisfy its needy people with food.16 I will clothe its priests with salvation. Then its godly ones will sing joyfully.17 There I will make the horn of David grow give mighty power to David. I will prepare a lamp light for my anointed one.18 I will clothe his enemies with shame, but the crown on my anointed one will shine.

1 Lembra-te, Senhor, a bem de Davi, de todas as suas aflições;2 como jurou ao Senhor, e fez voto ao Poderoso de Jacó, dizendo:3 Não entrarei na casa em que habito, nem subirei ao leito em que durmo;4 não darei sono aos meus olhos, nem adormecimento às minhas pálpebras,5 até que eu ache um lugar para o Senhor uma morada para o Poderoso de Jacó.6 Eis que ouvimos falar dela em Efrata, e a achamos no campo de Jaar.7 Entremos nos seus tabernáculos; prostremo-nos ante o escabelo de seus pés.8 Levanta-te, Senhor, entra no lugar do teu repouso, tu e a arca da tua força.9 Vistam-se os teus sacerdotes de justiça, e exultem de júbilo os teus santos.10 Por amor de Davi, teu servo, não rejeites a face do teu ungido.11 O Senhor jurou a Davi com verdade, e não se desviará dela: Do fruto das tuas entranhas porei sobre o teu trono.12 Se os teus filhos guardarem o meu pacto, e os meus testemunhos, que eu lhes hei de ensinar, também os seus filhos se assentarão perpetuamente no teu trono.13 Porque o Senhor escolheu a Sião; desejou-a para sua habitação, dizendo:14 Este é o lugar do meu repouso para sempre; aqui habitarei, pois o tenho desejado.15 Abençoarei abundantemente o seu mantimento; fartarei de pão os seus necessitados.16 Vestirei de salvação os seus sacerdotes; e de júbilo os seus santos exultarão17 Ali farei brotar a força de Davi; preparei uma lâmpada para o meu ungido.18 Vestirei de confusão os seus inimigos; mas sobre ele resplandecerá a sua coroa.
